I literally do not play healers. my whm is at 45, and ast is like... 55? maybe? Point is it is dead easy to do, it was just a fun little spin on playing a bit. I fail to see the problem here :(

I've said this before and I'll say it again; while I appreciate that SE is trying new things, I'm not a fan of playing a character that isn't my own, especially if I'm not terribly fond of them to begin with.
<People making a big deal over something that isn't one.
Okay. Some people just... need to learn how to play the game. We're talking basic ARR low level healer skills for this fight. Even if you don't heal or are averse to the role I'm sure you can suck it up for ONE quest.
The part where you play as Y'shtola is the easiest bit of that solo duty, though. You only need to heal Hien when Magnai knocks him to low HP and after the other guy's LB.
I though the quest was rather fun. And as everyone has mentioned, it is easy to do.
For anyone that has unlocked Astrologian, it basically the EXACT SAME THING, only with..less targets and a tougher NPC with more health. Shouldn't be cause to complain.
And even if you haven't or have never touched a healer before, it's still only 4 buttons you need to manage, everything else is basics you have learned from dungeons and trials. The fight even starts you so far way from the targets that it gives you time to see what said abilities even do so your ready.
I hope they do more of these fights in the future.
Of course though, the forums wouldn't be complete without some complaining they hate having to do a small 4 button scripted fight..
I wish she had more skills, it was a little too basic. Especially since I did the previous fight as WHM. It would be neat if they used that opportunity to make her look like a badass by giving us a bunch of crazy buttons to push. It was okay when it was Alphinaud because he is already lame, so having a total of 4 skills fits him fine.
For people who don't play WHM (or healers for that matter), the four button limit is appropriate I think. I found it a little too basic as well since WHM is my main job, but for someone who's never ever tried to heal and DPS before, it was probably a totally new experience. Best to keep it uncomplicated for the uninitiated. :)
I found Alphinaud basic too but they have to keep things simple since not everyone plays or even unlocks all the jobs.
Yes people will complain about anything. I was personally hyped when it became apparent we'd get to take Y'shtola for a spin. You only needed to really help Hien after a certain point because of his massive HP pool, otherwise you were just needing to spam the same nuke and refresh the DoT. Having the fight be in a cutscene instead? Boring. "Do something different wah!" "You did something different, WAH!"
hmm i had to heal Hien three times on the whole fight. I found it pretty easy and fun
Wut?? You complaint about a simple battle HAHAHAHAHA! GITGUD!
You must be that dps who rarely walk out from avoidable AOE in dungeons/trials huh? Well, on the bright side now you know how it feels to be a healer in a crap party.
Note: One does not need to be a healer main to win the battle, it's just a common sense. Geez these people seriously need some help...
