Guess it's just the curse of being a poor newbie, then. lol

I have worked for them. I've sat for hours with many other people at multiple plots, failing to get one each and every time, until a friend was kind enough to let me have their FC because they were quitting. Nowhere in my post did I ever designate I was still pinning for a house, or that I wasn't understanding of the unique circumstances that being on a congested server can bring. Just that I don't think dismissing a problem because of server size is entirely fair. Especially when someone who isn't on this servers might not have experienced how things are like. I'm also not entirely sure why you're being so snide about post reading either, as I pointed out in my own post that I saw people moving /to/ the newly opened plots only to have another person relocate to that occasion. Over and over again like clockwork until finally someone who didn't have one yet finally got a house after multiple hours. It's right there in my original post and the reason I used the term comedy of errors was because of how ludicrous it was to watch. Your quip about not reading one's post is kind of eyebrow raising to me for that very reason, as is the unnecessary hostility.
I still have dreams that they will just introduce proper instanced housing for all characters that are created. The existing system could be used as "Luxury" housing for those who actually want the neighborhood feel.
Or maybe just let people decorate inn rooms, and tack on a small garden instance that would give the garden plot + stable. I imagine not everyone is overly fussed about owning an actual house.
It's close, but not exactly the same. Apartments are still a limited. Even those were completely sold out here on Balmung prior to the latest housing expansion, and so basic housing was still unavailable to a lot of players.
XI (I know, everyone's favorite comparison!) gives every single character created access to a Moghome that you can decorate. It expands to include a 2nd story, and a patio, and has a rather large garden instance included with it. This is more in line with what I hope would be included for each player here in Eorzea.
In XIV, Inn rooms are the only thing that is automatically given to each player. If they expanded on the inns, I think that could satisfy a decent chunk of people.

Yet an another rant about housing from an overpopulated server.

This isn't just a rant in which I'm complaining about not getting a house. No, this is a rant about having to spend exorbitant amounts of time waiting for a house, only to have players start continuously relocating, continuously resetting the market probationary timer.
Learn to read more than the title of the thread, then I might take your response more seriously.
While I understand people's frustration over not getting the plot they want due to someone relocating into it before the timer is up; I don't really sympathize with that position at all. I am not currently in a plot I would choose to be my final resting point. My ideal house is a Medium with a beach front view in Mist. However, I bought a small quite a bit away from the beach and will "do my time" there until a plot I REALLY want opens up. I GUARANTEE you that, when such a plot does open up, I will instantly relocate to that plot.
In every complaint I've seen, if the poster had just went out and bought a plot that the timer was already expired on at some previous point in time; they would have been able to instantly relocate to the plot(s) they missed out on, which spurred them into frustration and complaints. In most servers, there are plots available to purchase by a new home-buyer, INSTANTLY. Maybe not the plot you WANT, but that is to be expected. In all likely-hood, if you want the plot for X reason, so do 1,000 other players. You have to out-smart your competition, which is the case in any market. Most complaints don't hold water that there are NO plots available, only that the complainer wants SE to make so that they get the plot they DREAM of.
I'm on Sargantanas, which is in the top 33% of "active" population and when I bought my first house(which was post-4.2) there were around 10 plots between Mist, Goblet, and Lavender Beds that the buy timers were not only expired, but were already on discounted pricing timers.
Moral of the story: play the game, stop hating the player.
I will take your "post" seriously when your rational and consider the gravity of your statement and the impact on other servers with your "suggestion" and not your self centered point of view.
I gave you solutions.... not my problem if you refuse to take them.
Your post is just a repeat of a lack of regard for others.
Actually, it's your attitude that's a complete lack of regard for others. At no point in my original post did I ever personally attack you, then you come in and attack me, saying I'm selfish and should just move servers if I don't like it (stupidest line of reasoning ever). That's my first point in this.Quote:

Secondly, your so-called solutions didn't even address the very problem I was trying to present in the first place, which is why I'm convinced you still haven't read the entirety of my post.
At this point, I'm not even going to spell it out for you.
If you don't want to provide more constructive criticism here, then take it elsewhere. I'm not going to reply to you anymore.
