Oh gosh, something was broken on release and it wasn't immediately fixed? Utter garbage. Game deserves to be sued into oblivion and shamed for ever having existed.

Dude, this is about the most basic QA on the planet. You introduce a new 'feature', you go to the trouble of creating an option that supposedly turns things off, and you don't even check to see if it fucking works? Moreover, it's pretty much the only UI change you made; it's not like there are dozens of System changes to test. And, this actually goes back to the design phase: some genius thought it was a good idea to co-opt the Notifications area for a 'feature' that should have been placed in the Recommendations area that they built for... oh yeah... recommended things to do.
Certainly it's a small enough issue that the sky isn't falling, but mocking people who are rightly ripping SE a new one for incompetent execution is absurd.
SE likes to introduce 'features' that no one asked for and no one needed, and then make sure there's no way to turn them off or revert. I have a long laundry list of QoL issues with the game that one day I'm going to type up and post, but just looking at it really depresses me and makes me seriously consider cancelling. I don't say that lightly - it's been weighing on my mind heavily lately. I love my friends and my guild and don't want to leave them, but there is just so little to genuinely enjoy about this game anymore.
It feels like amateur hour anymore.
Time for a patch that addresses this trash window. Good with achievements. Don't need to see this.
Didn't want it. Don't need it. Someone may like it. I do not. Let me banish it to the seven hells where it belongs.
I like both of the new achievement features (though I don't know why they don't have a basic one to let me choose a few I want to see in its own tracker window at all times....Such a simple feature that a lot of MMO's have and it would help with tracking ones that are not area-specific). As an achievement hunter, I'm the target audience of such additions and I very much welcome them.
But that being said, I get why other people wouldn't like it and there may be times where I might want to turn it off and then back on if I know I'll be doing a lot of area changes for non-achievement hunting purposes (like Hunt trains).
So...pretty please, feature to turn off/on the login popup and the area notice so people can fit to their needs?
This is annoying because it looks like a ready check when really it's not.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but mine hasn't popped up very often at all. I only saw it at the Gold Saucer and in Idyllshire.
I remember seeing this in the patch notes and thinking how utterly dumb this idea was. I'd much prefer an option in the achievements menu to look up which ones are near completion.
Even more frightening to think about is the amount of time and resources allocated to make this silly option happen. Several instances of two steps forward, and two steps back in this patch from the devs, but still very good for the most part.
