yeah of course, it always be like that. I was referring to the (current) final step supposedly requiring some kind of Pazuzu feather (3?) from a NM.

Oh, got ya. Yeah, I heard something about that while in one yesterday. I'm not too worried about that step yet. Though I am kind of curious as to the drop rate, and from which NM. I'm gonna guess it'll be from one of the 20 - 25 ranges once people get that high.
Has it occurred to anyone that maybe people are playing Eureka not for the stats, but for the glamour? I mean how much more bad ass are the Red Mage, Samurai & Dragoon sets going to look once you can dye them?!
Some people are, yes.
I personally don't though. There's such a thing as too much to dye a job specific set. That's part of the kicker. I can put in all that effort to get the 2 pieces of BLM's set I enjoy (Chest and legs), but then if I go RDM, my glam looks like a mess. And no, don't offer the glam toilet. 10 plates, that's not going to cover enough.
I don't see the reward, and me doing that for 5 hours made me burned enough to skip a raid night. And I had taken a break literally just before it came out, not really doing much outside of static and capping, which meant for Friday-Monday I did literally nothing. So how does 5 hours burn me out if it's good? And I'm counting breaks in that 5 hours, I didn't go 5 hours straight. I took at least a 15 minute break in each hour there.
Eureka is true endgame. Not for the content, but for the glamour, mounts and minions. That is the legit 100% reason why people are doing it.
Wildly unpopular opinion incoming here, but I feel like Eureka is content for the people that are hopelessly addicted to FFXIV and will play it just to do SOMETHING in it, because they can't imagine playing anything else. This is the impression I get. It's not particularly inspired design-wise and the rewards aren't great. It will likely be nerfed down the line for the glamour completionists, so even that isn't really a reason to commit yourself to it now. I feel like people are basically doing it because they were dying for something, ANYTHING to do in FFXIV during the massive content drought we've had since 4.2.
Eureka is meant for bots and players that have extremely low standards when it comes to entertainment.
Sorry to be so rude but it is what it is. The most lame, and lazy way a game developer can possibly design a game. Random map, random mobs (mostly recycled models) w/o any abilities of note but a shitload of HP and high base auto attack damage.
Honestly, we all should stop subscribing for one month to punish SE for this audacity. After all this is a game we PAY for on a monthly basis. I think we can expect a little more effort than "Goto island -> kill crap" for our money. Free to play asia grinders do better than this.
I was actually looking forward to the SB relic but my limited free time is far to valuable to play sth I am BORED with. So, unless there will be severe nerfs that speed this crap step up, SB will be the first addon in which I won't be doing my relic.
This is a common problem I see with the two frequently-attributed definitions to the word "casual": in one sense, it means lower-skill or less effort; in another, it means "less time commitment". Caitlyn is saying it's not casual by virtue of the time commitment, you're saying it is casual by virtue of the lack of skill requirement.
