That's unfortunately incorrect, as during the first few weeks of both of the past seasons, the queues have been almost instant pop, even during downtime. First week is always incredibly active, so I'm not sure where you're finding that information. Near the end, yes, it dies down, but with the season ranking changes as I stated earlier, this is less likely to be an issue this time around.Quote:

Things, in my opinion, should not be given to everyone. Ultimate Coil titles and weapons don't go to everyone who gets regular coil achievements, savage gear and mounts don't go to those who get normal mode achievements, and top 100 feast rewards don't go to those who do normal feast or frontlines.
Imagine grinding for months to get top 100, stressing over lost points, spending hours practicing and trying to learn as much about your class as you can... only for people to spam Frontlines a couple of times and get the same reward next month.

I don't think achievements like frontlines are the solution either. It just lowers the quality of matches and make people only play it for a short spawn of time. Plus, you just described the opposite situation of queue times, they're fast on first few weeks and huge later on.
I also don't agree rewards should go to everyone. Just like Ultimate rewards don't. But I think there should be other ways of getting them, the current system haven't been working well. I've ran for the top 100 once and finished 1 point below the 100th. It's honestly stressing and unfun after a certain point and lot's of players don't have time to commit to that in the spawn of a single season. Meanwhile you can come back to Ultimate anytime. -

That kinda bums me out I don't want these cool mounts and things to become easier to get even if washed out or pay real money or whatever...I'm glad its the hellpups were an achievement. Not because it was dumbed down and made easier to get, but because around the time it was released I had just discovered you can actually get something for doing good or at least ranking higher in PvP. I went to try my hand at it, but it was to late. The feast was due to be over soon and no one was queing. I was disappointed that I wouldn't get to have a chance to get the minions. However, I later discovered that you could now get them as achievements. It took a little while to get, but I take a bit of pride in having them out "the red one in particular". I get asked by people where to get or how to obtain and I let them know and show the other one too. Its something that not everyone has and can sometimes peak others interest to try PvP. Even if I don't get top 100 I can still aim for the Gloria ship since I'm only 29 wins away from it. This is for the achievement alone. I can't imagine the guys who get the top 100. I was almost cracking my way into the top 100 this past season, but I stopped pushing and took a break, came back and everyone's scores were like 1000+ above me, so I just gave up because the que had already slowed down to 15+ minutes per match, but here's to another chance! Also, I agree with you Ryannex, there definitely are those out there who will be able to recognize the feast rewards, or at least know its a reward from the feast if they do not know what season it's from.

In WoW, the top 0.5% rated arena players in each Battlegroup (sorta like Datacenters in XIV) are given a mount (along with a Gladiator title).

I don't recall a lot of complaining about the arena mounts, as people were happy they were able to obtain mounts with a similar model, from a different activity. Meanwhile, the arena mounts still stood out enough to be recognized. -

oh hey a thing i will never see in game, at all.
heres a thought, why not add them to achievement vendor after a few patches, with a recolour. that way pvp can have this exclusive mount for a while, then everyone can enjoy things no-one uses anymore.
and before anyone complains about losing exclusive mounts, Fat Chocobo, gryphon, Coeurl and the mog-hat would like a word hell give the pvp exclusive one a special lighting effect, or make the normal one green or purple a colour the pvp exclusives don't have,
i mean wasn't there meant to be a third coloured hell hound mount and armoured one shown off that was meant for other means to acquire. -
