Letter from the Producer, XXIII (01/23/2012)

Just glad we got something on my birthday. :D

The immaturity of this community is a given, and should be expected by this point. Seeing people complaining doesn't really surprise me at all.

While all the children are busy complaining about what they don't have, it's nice to see some of the community is able to appreciate Yoshida for everything he does. With most MMORPGs, the lead developer is nothing but a disembodied name that we never hear from. Occasionally they'll pop up at conventions or for interviews, but rarely do they take the time to just... ...talk to the community.

The fact that Yoshida is able to just get down with us on a personal level and chat about anything and everything shows just how much he cares about this community. He's not just focused on the game, he's focused on us too. That's a great thing.

Here's to another great year of success.

Is this his second fewer or did the Letter take way too long to translate and is outdated by atleast two weeks?

Personally I wish that he would talk to us like this more often and show us behind the scenes stuff. I think it's great, it's nice to see them being themselves. :)

He had told us about the hospital and fever thing already.

I actually welcome these "CULTURE" posts, but not when they seem to take the place of actually important information about the issues of the game we are paying for.

They'll eventually show up. It's not really stealing place to nothing

It's kind of understandable, the majority of us don't care about what he and his team have been up to in their spare time.

There is an update that is supposed to be coming out next month, usually he posts something within a few weeks of the updates. So why does he need to post now when he will be posting about that in a few weeks?

Plus as many have pointed out, this is traditional in Japan to post something like this. So, what exactly is your point other than you hate Yoshi talking about anything unless its 100% about FFXIV and if he does you're going to put down his posts and effort?

And if you really do care, you sure fooled me with your first post.
