Kidding. I still love my BLM. But as far as rotations go, RDM is much more interactive and interesting than BLM. All I did on that job was stand in one place and nuke one spell and shift from fire to ice and vice versa. (This is pre-70). So RDM is way more exciting to me.

RDM is definitely the class you should play if you ever tired with other class rotation.

I main BLM and once i try RDM, their rotation difference is like night and day, as BLM i need to have good timing sense and if i screwed up everything just crumble down.

I just finished leveling BLM, and SMN has usually been my go-to DPS (healer main), but damn, RDM feels so good.

BLM was a mess for me, and I always felt like there was something I was missing the whole time. I'm really bad at it, never felt like I was getting better between 60-70, so glad to be done. I agree RDM feels like a DPS for players that tend to struggle with rotations, because that's never something you really deal with as a healer.Transitioning to RDM was so easy. Don't know if it'll replace SMN (or heals) until I play with it at level 70, but it already feels better than most jobs.

That's how I play RDM. I go like this: pew! pew! pew! manaify! mega man zero three sword slash combo! backflip!! pew! pew! pew! Turn on youtube real quick! back to pew!

Just rinse and repeat. I <3 RDM so much.

I like RDM but its so simplistic to the point of being boring if I am honest, at least for me. It is very flashy and its hilariously easy to pump out good damage without looking at the screen.

its fun enough, but it barely changes from 50-70 and I would rather play anything else honestly (also seeing people still not comprehend dual cast in the DF breaks my soul)

^true, RDM is so simple to the point you can get bored because of it. i wish there is more to the white and black spell, maybe an additional effect depend on which spell you cast or something like that. right now rdm white and black spell is just pure fuel to fill bar so you can do melee, thats it.

It could be very simple as the job itself came at the same time they were streamlining all jobs to be simpler.
So most likely had no intentions to make it complicated at all.
I hope future Red Mage gets spells added to it to change it up some

Personally, I like both RDM and BLM but then again, server tick really bugs me when playing BLM. Honestly, I have gotten bored of these long, tedious rotations. I'm more of a reactionary player not a long rotation type person so there's far too many classes that base off a long, annoying rotation. some may find it boring to not have a rotation. I'd At least like more flexibility with it like tanks and what not. When people say MNK,DRG,SAM are all really fun, I just personally can't understand it. Bard is sorta tedious but not too bad. Then again, as long as it's fun, even if simple is fine for me.

I love Red Mage it's such a fun job to play and it's stylish as heck man. It definitely kinda sucks that when you're a RDM main you're definitely the lower of the Magical DPS, I know in dev letters they're like RDM is fine and doesn't need anything but yes, a little bit of potency increase or I think we need an actual incentive to choose between Verholy/Verflare instead of it just being random. This is just a suggestion and may not balance well with the 'utility' provided but what if: Verflare was given a self damage buff (of atleast 5%) for 20-30 seconds and Verholy was given a DoT. That would provide some sort of incentive to picking which mana you want high or low so you can be like okay let's go for verholy/verflare this time. And also, change Embolden, the diminishing return time effect just...doesn't work.

Personally just not feeling it with RDM. It is nice and simple but the style is just not what I am looking for.

Hopefully we may get a Melee Sword Mage in the future but I doubt it considering SE may want to go into other things from now on outside of Swords.
