Add Swimming to Limsa Lower Decks

I'd like to see swimming added to some 2.0 and 3.0 areas tbh. Places like Upper La Noscea, West Thanalan, North & South Shroud, and Hinterlands to name a few. I know it's big demand, but swimming would be more popular if it were available in more places.

Do you go swimming in a major city that has docks and such? In case you did not know, those ocean currents are extremely dangerous, and swimming in waters like that can end up taking your life. You either drift out to sea, get pulled down into the water, or eaten by sharks. You do not see anyone going swimming in the waters at ports in a major city. No one wants to do that anyways. We have boats to go out on the water. Besides, sharks hang out at docks and piers mainly because the smaller fish tend to stay there.

So swimming at docks or piers is suicide. Take it from someone who studies marine biology.

You're absolutely correct about that, so I feel the need to also mention that all of the old 2.0 zones that currently now have swimming, also got aesthetical make overs to accommodate the new swimming changes. Surely Limsa or anywhere else would also receive a make over as well, to make it feel more appropriate of course. I'm sure SE could add a small enclosed section around the docks for tourist swimming that is perfectly safe from such dangers!

Never see anyone swim there. Only area i see people swim is in Rhalgar Reach

You would die. Oceanfront water is horrible in front of populace’s. You have to avoid the docks, because riptides will drown you, and you also have to avoid boats, massive waves, and propellers. There’s too many dangers.

No you should not be able to swim in Limsa Lominsa.

I never even thought of wanting to swim in Limsa.... and as soon as I saw it suggested here, I had all the same thoughts that people have already listed as to why you shouldn't go swimming from a city pier.

On the other hand, one of the first things I did once I reached Costa del Sol was rummage through my inventory for something resembling beach clothes, and go swimming out to explore all the islands. It was lovely.

I think not being able to swim immediately makes it even more of an "exciting new place" to finally get to the beach.

And even if you could swim there, you really wouldn't want to.
All the garbage and waste produced by a city like Limsa Lominsa, where does that go?
Well, if it is anything like real world cities most of it will end up in the water. Not something that would encourage swimming there....

Rivers in New/Old Gridania would work I suppose, if they raised the water level.

And how come ya can swim in plate armor? Or with 10 tonze of ore in yer backpack? Why don't miqo get a dialogue box makin' sure they're okay with gettin' their fur wet? Who lets lalafel out inta the sea without floaties?

For a fleetin' moment I had a beautiful thought of a Limsa free from loading zones an' invisible walls. Where ya could jump off the Bismarck to the water an' swim to Aleport if ya felt like it. But since that ain't gonna happen I don't see why this can't. Aside from shufflin' barriers around and addin' a ramp bein' too resource intensive.

I wouldn't call it a port. There's the one ferry dock, and the bigger ship has to stay well offshore. Very different to Limsa's deep harbour.
