Absolutely. There are so many PvP games out there to take pointers from, and learn lessons from, that its like they are developing FFXIV PvP with blinders on.

Because even when you spam it, it seems to be not clear for anyone. Its more like:
Healer: "Attacking melee!" (focus melee please)
DPS: "Attacking ranged" (Ah ok, you attack melee, we attack someone else.)
Healer: "Attacking melee! Attacking melee! Attacking melee!" (No! I want you to focus melee!!!)
DPS: "Attacking ranged" (We got it, you attack melee. We attack someone else.)
Healer: "Hello" (I m done... I m out.)
It would help a bit, if we at least got commands like this:
- "Yes."
- "No."
- "Attack [role/job]!"
- "[playername] take Buff/Medals/Whatever!"
- "Help!"
Or just enable chat again.
I've always thought that if we're not getting our chat back (looks unlikely), then at least make quick chat commands by role since that seems to be the way things are going now. Some commands are going to exist for every role, but some, like healer, need things like "I'm stunned/silenced", "You're out of my line of sight", etc.
yes please, practice mode 4v4
Unless someone has mentioned it already, you can do 4v4 practice through Custom Matches. I have never tried it myself but there's apparently no chat restriction with custom matches.
Right now, the best you can do is to invite your FC buddies and/or create a PvP linkshell and get people to together through that.
Cross-server custom matches and cross-server linkshells are supposedly coming with 4.1 so it will become a lot easier to find people to play with.
