I'm not basing what I say on numbers, I have done it both ways and prefer having the media 2 regen as well and it does give me more time to DPS. Who cares if it overheals DPS. It wont get me hate unless the tank is really bad. Plus DPS in AoE situation get hit by AoE attacks a lot because the groups of mobs hide the warning circles so well, so in the end it ends it doesn't end up only overhealing them.

As a tank I hate it when the WHM casts medica 2 when I'm the only one taking damage. What's worse is when they cast it pre-pull.

Yes. Pre-pull is annoying. But after you have hate even if you are only one taking damage, what do you care if you have Medica 2 or not? If you are keeping hate off the DPS you will 100% be keeping hate from the healer even if Medica 2 is overhealing the party. Medica 2 overhealing hate doesn't even come close to comparing with DPS AoEing even if it a weak AoE class.

If you are using Medica II after a pull has occurred then you are wasting a GCD that could have been used on another Holy or more efficient heal.

We are talking dungeon situations. Who cares if you are being 100% efficient? It makes things easy for me and I would assume from my own experience that it would make things easy for others too. We just play differently is all.

Cast regen, cure II and Benison. Profit.

I got Ala Mhigo and the tank wasn't doing the biggest possible pulls for that dungeon every single time, but from my experience the pulls she did were usual for that dungeon (for bigger pulls, same principles apply, but you will probably have to use Cure II more between Holys). I'm not very experienced with WHM in SB and I don't remember the expert dungeons that well, so my play there isn't really optimised. My WHM is currently i313 and the tank seemed to be wearing mostly i310 stuff.

as the tank is starting the pull, tab Aero2 the pursuing mobs whose names are red

when he has aggro on the complete pull, Largesse + Tetragrammatron to top the tank off from the damage he's received so far

then Regen + Asylum + Eye for an Eye

then Cure 2 followed with a Divine Benison

if their health is good at this point, run in with a Swiftcasted Holy to get a stun in

Presence of Mind + Cure 2 as needed

Assize with some lilies up

alternate between Cure 2 and Holy as needed with a Thin Air in there somewhere

Yeah, Medica II on-top of Asylum/Largesse/Regen/Benison/etc is totally acceptable. Sometimes I'll Swiftcast the first Holy or the Medica II. Depends on how squishy I feel the pull might be. Another HoT running can buy more DPS uptime. Every situation is different.

How do people spam holy in those large pulls? Every time a tank pulls large in a level 70 dungeon, if I cast holy the tank is usually loses 60-70% of his/her hp by the time holy goes off. I could swiftcast then use holy, but with the animation time the tank is down like 20% and by the time I have him/her topped off and working on casting holy the mobs are no longer stunned and the tank is back down 60% or so when holy goes off again. There's no way I could spam holy during those pulls. Usually I'm spamming cure 2 and weaving in my other stuff because a spam of cure 2 is generally not enough.
