I hope crafted gear (with materia) ends up being better than JSE, that way you have to choose between FFXI nostalgia and optimized gear.

I agree, it's better to keep Materia on top than try to balance it, you're absolutely correct.

Yeah it'd suck if everyone was just using crafted gear with materia because it's by far the best wait oh crap

I hope the AF sets are difficult to obtain and not more of this solo ridiculously easy crap like GC quests and all the other job quests. Difficult as in a hard fight and not just collect a huge amount of something.

Edit: All the class quests thus far that is, not job.

At least with crafted gear you can chose to dye or not dye the gear in various colors (depending on piece of course). It has been confirmed that you have no choice in even a bit of customization with Artifact Gear.

Some Variety > No Variety.

I would prefer there be more ways to bling out gear (maybe make HQ look a bit better?) or different styles of the same item (beyond concerns for just gender) for aesthetic reasons (like embelishments or engraved patterns) but I can only hope for so much in what the art team puts out and is implemented in game.

Materia was an amazing move, however every coin has two sides and we are now seeing repercussions.

Personally, I feel that once materia was released, they never should have introduced an item in game again that isn't sloted or materia.

I would like if a fulll set gave you an ability that was for example cnj +50% healing magic but-50% damage and thatw asyour 2 h ability, that you could turn off at any time but had to wait 2h to reactivate and i lasts 1h 30min
