I'd argue against this slightly. You know if monks could meld more str on their accessories they would, if blm could meld more int they would. Main stat trumps secondary stats. Even if you ignore that, stat weights are still pretty strict about what's best to meld. Maybe there is "choice" in what you can physically meld, but like crit rate is better than det which is better then direct hit etc etc (just speaking hypothetically). Kind of like an illusion of choice, bis is still bis and those require certain melds to reach bis.
