im fine with the change, it's not perfect but its at least usable.
It's prior form it was useless in every aspect.

They should Remove the stack mechanic and make it always have a 350 potency on a 15 sec duration with a 30-40 sec cooldown.
Edit: This could compete with Earthly star being a Free AoE Heal having around half the potency but also half the CD.
Problem here is I still feel like most of what WHM got in Stormblood can be summed up as a resounding 'meh'. Aside from, maybe, Thin Air. Nothing else really has any impact to our rotation, the way we play, etc. It's all just tacked on trimmings that aren't really necessary one way or the other. A WHM, even with the changes, who disregards PI and the lily mechanics isn't going to be at any real disadvantage alongside one who is using them. I feel like square gives WHM scraps in both the mechanic and the visual department. You only have to look at moves like AST's Earthly Star or RDM's Impact to see how little effort seems to have been put into WHM effects and animations by comparison. So I guess I'm glad they made changes but....nothing really changed. I'm still not seeing much of a reason to use or pay much attention to these abilities.
Are you serious? You mean to tell me that Aero III's animation isn't cool, or that the constant staff-spinning animations aren't fun to watch? That the Holy twirl isn't pretty? Earthly Star is fun but it's also mostly just particle effects; the stars are not only an easy grpahic, but they largely just copied the same display as the AST LB3, just on a smaller scale. I think this complaint in particular is one you won't worry about so much in a few months when all the "new" has graduated to "normal".
Nothing on Bension eating up all lilies, Lilies still being meh, PI is at least useable. At least Cure 1 is now 100% right.
I think SE spent so much time on AST during HW to balance them, and then subsequently spent so much time changing Scholar that they just didn't have the same time or energy for White Mage. Or do they think White Mage is perfect how it is? This plenary change is good and is a lot better than it's first incarnation, but what is it trying to achieve? White Mage never needed more aoe, especially in 2 healer situations. If this is meant to save a GCD for dps or something it's still too tiny of a change. I know it saves mana but no one has mana issues on White Mage right now.
Unless White Mages can now solo heal savage this change isn't really useful. It's nice but not that useful. Even if it turns out White Mages can solo heal savage or just most content SE will nerf that in a second because that will be (rightfully) insanely over powered.
I'm liking all the healer changes overall. Especially since no healer was really nerfed (the balance change is technically a nerf but with the spear change AST was by no means nerfed overall this patch). Yet I'm still not sure why SE won't give White Mage a single unique raid utility. Heck even a personal buff to damage or crit would be nice, if only to proc that useless 68 trait (why hasn't this been changed? did they forget this trait existed like the rest of us?).
I think he's talking about what was added in Stormblood only. He's not denying WHM has cool animations and spell effects, because they do (love it or hate it Holy is definitely impressive). It's just that what we got in Stormblood... maybe not so much? I typically prefer less flashy animations and effects but even I think WHMs new skills are pretty bland looking, if not just recycled stuff from older skills. I don't think it's a huge deal breaker for the job, but some people really notice these things, so it's understandable such things would be mentioned.
They also made lilies proc 100% on both Cure and Cure II. It's pretty obvious that they wanted to try something new with WHM to give them some unique identity beyond the "default healer" that they're steadily making of the CNJ skill set, and their initial idea was "RNG procs" which have been certifiably changed to 100% chances. It may not be what you dreamed of but give it a chance and see how it feels with the changes.
