Can you allow us to have unique glamour for each job?

As mentioned before though, #2 is possible with the current coding because it gets around the glamour system entirely by just duplicating a piece of gear (that cannot be desynthed, traded, sold, etc) to use as glamour fodder. All they would have to do is drop a NPC in a random end game hub to do this. I know it's "low on their priority list" (which honestly shouldn't be because this game is basically ALL about glamour) but even a solution as simple as that shouldn't take long to implement and would work until they do get around to overhauling the glamour system. It would be a band-aid fix that would work for now.

I'm hoping with enough support that SE may see that suggestion and go "hey that's easy enough to do and doesn't require a complete system overhaul for glamour right now, maybe we can do it until we do said overhaul"

Your #2 is the same idea I had a while ago, but I think you expressed it better than I did.

The main problem with the duplicate idea is the 2nd ring slot. Under this system buying one ring with tomes is actually buying 2 rings (the original and a duplicate). For anything but crafted gear you normally would have to get the 2nd ring from a different source. Since the developers probably have a reason for unique rings I don't see them employing this method unless they change their minds or a workaround is found.

It's better than not having any other recourse for potentially years to come, if ever. It's also optional and only requires 1 slot in each armoury section for any addtional jobs you want unique glamour for. For me, I just want to separate Black Mage and Red Mage. That wouldn't hurt my inventory.

Their excuse for not doing a glamour log that many other MMOs already have is coding and having to redo the entire system. Fine. But simply duplicating the gear would be a fast and easy band-aid fix until then. I see no reason why not.

Plus it helps with sub stats when choosing melds, which while jobs do share the same gear, they are all affected differently by sub stats to fully optimize that job.

I disagree that requesting an "easy fix" is the way to go. They NEED to redo the entire system. Giving them an easy out is just going to get us more sub-par nonsense.

Why? they need to fix our crappy inventory limit. oh wait, let's nickle and dime everyone instead just like we do with retainers. we can pay $2 to have separate glams like that, per job ,since something something server stress load, limitations and other stuff that likes to be brought up

Of course it needs to be redone. I'm not suggesting they not do so. Since they are not willing to pour in the resources to completely redo the system at this point of time, I'm suggesting a temporary solution that we can use right NOW. I'm not suggesting in lieu of a rework. I'm suggesting something to hold us over until then.

Sharing gear between jobs of the same role is a nightmare both cosmetically and functionally. Since it would be a very, very long time before they would rework the glamour system (probably years or next expansion if at all), having an interim "solution" until that happens I think is fine.

that's not how the world usually works, they're going to put this together and think it's good enough. this system also encourages players to buy more retainers and once they have the revenue stream increased they are never going to want it reduced.

Yep. Exactly that. And when people complain saying that it increases inventory bloat SE can just turn around and say "Then don't use it! This is a solution for those that want glamour per job!" and because it solves that issue, they won't need to iterate further on it. Because then it becomes a case of "If it ain't broke, DON'T {bang}ING FIX IT!"

Dunno if this changed but a long time ago, Yoshi said they weren't doing this so people wouldn't mistake what job you really were. (ie healer wearing tank gear, getting mistaken as a tank).
