I love this idea and Blizzard uses this but it would require that the login servers get a significant overhaul to perform this. As much as I want this too, I am not expecting something like this till late in the 4.X cycle or early in the 5.X cycle.

For those who asked about when Queue lines are going to decrease in Balmung:
You just need to transfer out of Balmung.
Thank you for the information. One of the most frustrating things about the situation was the lack of information that was coming down. I'm really happy with all the content I've gotten to play so far and I'm looking forward to being able to explore the rest of the expansion.
This is absolutely not true for me, either. I was attempting to do some of the Heavensward MSQ, went to Western Thanalan, got an error message, and have not been able to log into the game at all since this happened. I cannot access the game at all, for an area that has been in the game from the beginning. As soon as I get through the login screen, I get a generic error and get logged out of the game. So no, I haven't been able to visit new areas, do main story quests, side quests, etc. I can't get into things that are not part of the expansion at all.
While the thread is mostly about duty issues, some of us still can't play the game at all.
this is just.. baffling, from how Much better they handled the transition from Closed Beta to Open to Release of 2.0, yea we're STILL seeing issues creeping up from how rushed the network infrastructure is for not just the NA Datacenters, but the game as a whole, after the Flop 1.0 was they didnt put much thought likely to scale it to the same degree it or XI has grown to (i mean Why? they were loosing rep players and Money after 1.0 was failing so hard, so they didnt expect a huge Success for it at the start or love for it from teh getgo from us the players. ) so not only is it a matter the Games servers and Network are still somewhat in thier growing pain years. , SB hasnt felt like it was given a through testing and should of been delayed a bit more to go thru a Isolated Beta test. ~~
i mean as new content updates came for the now Aging MMO XI of theirs they have the Test Server which you haveto signup for yah, but is separated from teh live production servers which unless something Majorly over-crital occurs doesn't take teh game down/affect players like this on teh live Servers. now i cant imagine it'd be Easy for Yoshi and the team to do that but it would leave a better fleshed out feel for major content updates like this if they had Small Update testing phases. and yea dont haveto say, "this isn't the XI team, they are their own set of teams, " just baffles they cant think ahead like they have had in the Past
am i griping over the Disconnects, teh crashing, and long Que times? Not really, i mean Yea i got things i can do while waiting in que (read a book watch tv/ netflix chat w/ friends etc.) and on long instance ques i can do other things like grind for mats for my crafters, level another class/job via leves, MSQ (when i get past an infuriating one on the path to 2.0 MSQ's end on my alt,) am i demanding/ wanting an extention on my sub time? No. becaus efor the "most part" the Datacenters are "online" and they havent been down for a full 24hrs. If they go completly offline? yea we'll likely see compensation, but before then... likely not
I agree with both sides, here.
I took a day off from work on Friday to play this game. I'm angry that I wasted a day off of work on this. I feel like a lot of people are, and that's why there's a demand for compensation.
Do I expect 2 days worth of extended subscription? I don't know if we should go that far. Should we get SOMETHING, like a minion or an experience points boost day for two days to compensate for this lost time? Yes. I think there should be something that boosts our opportunity to level as thanks for people's patience.
Players are angry right now, and the last thing we need with congested servers and problems all over the place are people who are fed up with Final Fantasy XIV. Not now, it does no good for any of us to lose people.
