I don't mind my tail clipping through stuff but I also don't really like robe style outfits either so my tail clipping through it least of my concerns.

Lil ridiculous al the glam wants from few players, this is lil too much. You choose the race so you should not complain. The cash that it would require should go somewhere else in the game. Just make gear with a tail holder or something but i say let it be.

The clipping doesn't bother me that much, I mostly manage to ignore it. However I can't stand the chocobo armor! Surely there's room to tuck the tail in the back or something :mad: My character looks like she has a really long poop stuck back there permanently, its awful.

Personally, I'd be for this if it didn't take up very much time to do. Looking at the upcoming RDM artifact gear, the tail is gonna be clipping through the cape and coat itself a whole hell of a lot. There are some armors I wouldn't mind turning the tail off of and I could imagine them being tucked into the armor or something along those lines. I personally don't like hyur base models enough to give up being a miqo'te(and I love my ears, eyes, and etc details being a miqo'te as well), given miqo'te felt like it's animations were very smooth to me. If this couldn't be added though, I'd be in favor of just better "tail pockets" like the DRG AF2 gear has shown it can look decent on. Just no more awkward looking ones like "Chimerical Felt Coat of Casting".... Seriously, who looked at that and thought it'd look good -.-;.

It'd also be nice as a feature of mystery for characters who RP. No spoilers here but I can think of a certain Au Ra that was masked and hidden but for some reason, no one seemed to notice she has a dragon-like tail trailing behind her? I'd imagine having cloaks and armor that cover your full body would be fun to be able to toggle off the tail to make you character unidentifiable by race off the bat for fun.

I remember once circumstance I met someone in game who was a female miqo'te but she was full clad armored so well that I thought she was a hyur or something, maybe even male... I didn't notice her tail at the time, but regardless to say that was the give away upon seeing it. It was really cool to be surprised like that imo too. I know one thing I've heard commonly bugs people is the bunny outfits and any outfits that have a poof for a tail gives them a 2nd tail?

Can't tell you how many times I've seen miqo'te/au ra with them complaining why they have their tail + this bunny tail just over it. Where does the tail go? Glamour it to look like the bunny one, tuck it somewhere, really there's any reason we could say for it to not show up if we had the choice. Again though, I agree... I don't hate my tail, I in fact love my fluffy tail... But some gears do get annoying and even turn a player off from wearing pieces because it's oddly clipped. Same goes for those weird hat nudges for our ears, just clip holes in the hat and let our ears hang out instead of giving us weird pockets(I'm looking at you Samurai AF hat).
tl;dr: I don't think we need it but it is a very nice quality of life change for when we would like to hide it and make the clipping not so noticeable. (holy crap this character limit is so small)

For gear with own tail on it, just ask for a gear tail toogle, /geartail or something like that.
Remove the bunny tail from the bunny costume and the Chocobo tail from the Chocobo costume.

Just adjusting the position of the male Miqo'te tails, so they're centered rather than held off to one side would fix probably 95% or more of the clipping issues, and without changing the defining feature that makes Miqo'te who they are. I'd far prefer that solution over removing the tail.
