AH I see.

I think that's the most likely choice at this point too. I wouldn't mind they would fit in the general look the world has going for it. I just hope they keep the girls tall like they were in XII.

FFXIV is the only real competitor to the juggernaut that is World of Warcraft, if you really want to compete you need to at least try and match what they do, over the course of their expansion they added new races, improved the old ones, added customization. WoW is a rather poor example. The only times you can list when they released new PC races was WoW > BC with Blood Elves/Draenei and Cata > MoP with Goblin/Worgen and Pandaren. Considering the game came out 13 year ago that averages out to a new PC race/s every four-ish years.

They are not an hyur-animal hybrid, if they were I'd have no intrest in it, but their body type is different, Viera body type should similar to elezeen, but hopefully not looking like transgenders...

i would like a Viera race similar to the Papitaur race from White Knight Chronicles ^^

Most of the time, when I see people supporting the idea of adding the Viera, they post pictures of Fran, usually showing off her figure. This leads me to believe that many want Viera for the attractiveness of the race that was made a staple in FFXII. Not from Tactics, despite Viera being present in these games as well. Whether or not this is true is another story. I don't mind as long as people then don't go on to request for Viera-specific armor.

The other thing people tend to keep showing are the Au Ra concept art featuring a leporidae-like race. That's the thing- it's Au Ra concept art, showing the SE team was trying to decide how to make the Au Ra look. We wound up with lizard-like, or dragon-like, features, but could have also as easily wound up with the leporidae look. Personally, I'm glad FFXIV went with a more-original race; it's bad enough people say FFXIV is a [spiritual] sequel to FFXI because Hyur look like Hume, Roegadyn look like Galka, Lalafell look like Tarutaru, Elezen look like Elvaan and Miqo'te look like Mithra. Even if that's where all the similarities end. I'd like to see Viera added- as another non-playable race. Outside of beast-like creatures (dragons, Quirin, Moogles, Ixali, Kobalds, you get the idea), all we have are the Padjal, which are just a mutation of the Hyur specific to the Black Shroud. I suppose you can count the Garleans as well.

Nice bait title. I know you and a portion of these forums are diehard bunny girl fans, but please. This is getting ridiculous. We don't need Viera, we need more options for the current races so we don't see the same 10 set ups being reused over and over again.

The Viera are the worst man. If anything, and I don't think we need a new race, but an avian or a amphibian.

To be fair, Yoshi-P's team did not create the five races. That was Tanaka's team and they based them off of the FFXI races. The only races Yoshi-P's team has worked on is: Female Roegadyn, Female Highlander, Male Miqo'te and the Au Ra.

Also, you could easily make Viera a third clan for the Miqo'te. Just make them taller, have longer ears and no tail (because a stub isn't going to be seen under all of that gear).
