Instanced Housing

Instanced housing, and we would not of had the mess we currently have.
They still could of had it so other players can visit you.
I get the whole community idea but with such housing shortages, and players having multiple homes while others have been wanting/trying to get 1 for a while is sad

Yeah I fully support instance housing! There doesn't have to be a whole lot of change to the current wards either. You'll still be able to walk around and see other peoples yards and what not but if you click on the board in front of the house you'll get a list of people who share the same plot, click on a character and that house and yard load up. Wards will still retain the same feel, but everyone would be able to get the plot they want and ACTUALLY get a house which is impossible right now, and you know it's going to be impossible in Stormblood until they fix this broken system.

I'd like to see personal housing moved to its own section and instanced. Like in mist for example, if you run to the end of the beach and go around a boulder or something, it could pop up as a map change area and you could get the apartment options of going to x,y,z house. It would be an entire house, yard and all, with the beach view + water and such, and then make the wards themselves FCs only, as some have suggested. For people who already own personal housing, just transfer their house+yard to the new instanced part, or refund them what they spent on the plot (or give them a small/med/large house certificate or some such, good for one free house in the area of their choice) + all items, so they could then move to a different ward if they wanted to (probably the better option as I know people who have houses in wards they didn't really want because it was that or nothing).

I'm sure some of the people who own a private house will complain, but you can't please everyone. This is the fairest way to my mind for the entire community.

The problem there is found in the nature of a FC. Say your FC has a house and so do you. If you become the leader should your personal be auto-demolished? Of course not. What if you are next in line to be the leader of your FC as the old leader never came back. You have been there a year and the next guy in line hates you. Does the system skip you over because you have a house? Is everyone with a personal not allowed to start a FC? "The guy that started this FC has a house so we as a FC will never get one... forget this."

A lot of issues that are avoided because a FC and personal house is not the same thing.

As for a fix to the argument over instance vs neighborhoods, why not both? Have the wards as they are now and introduce special spots in the world for instance housing? A massive airship that "links" to the aether of a town or settlement and can be moved? A private tropical island that you get to by rowboat npc? An underwater base? A witch's cave? We could have a blast with all of this.

Yep I agree with Erik. No point in making an already restrictive system worse. I would love to see instanced housing alongside the wards. Honestly, personally, I'd rather have an instanced in yard so I can RP in the yard and not worry about random people coming by the troll me and my friends.

You are so right SE refuses to have a real live letter discussing housing. They just keep doubling down on the problem and ignore the cause.

This is what we know. All servers must have the same amount of houses. Because the wards aren't instanced but built into the very core of the game. Which means more server strain. We have as many housing zones as the rest of the open world combined.

Next the apartments are a lie. All they did was add a FC house that anyone could join. Then they didn't even have the nerve to add everything the FC house has like vendors and buffs. Oh and a shared stable with 500 random people.

We have instanced zones in the game. FC rooms, apartments, inn rooms, inside of FC house, and squadron room. They each have weird restrictions. No teleport, no crafting, kicked out of when returning to the game, or not being able to leave when server is full.

So they had years to work on making some sort of usable and fair instanced housing. Instead we get a video of another zone same mistakes over.

Also Eriks idea about instanced housing giving them a reason. I kept holding out that the lack of news in HW's was going to be floating islands. It is all in game we even see a base on island for the pirates. Also gives them the option to join them in the future when the game is better designed.

Each FC can only have one house so that'll be 22 completely different FCs that just have the same short short tag so they all look the same.

If you visit/view any of their house details you'll see the actual free company names are different as they have to be unique, the short tag does not.

I'm sure it probably is the same people behind them all, but they would have had to level each FC up to rank 6 to be able to buy a house which is an impressive amount of effort...

I think diadem would be the perfect scenario for instanced housing, i mean you could see in the horizon your neighbours , give a option to visit peoples plots, but also have a option to be particular...
Ok im describing wildstar housing, but its so overwhelming the freedom to customize your space , its really your place in the game, also the cash shop could be used for "good" , selling packs of items for a good price, when people pay like $20 for a set of glamour armor , $30 for a pack of 10-30 itens would be fair and people would buy tons of it.
I mean no mmo today is really innovative, why not copy one of the best feature in modern mmos?

I honestly wouldn't even care about owning a house if they opened up apartments more instead of making them just their own fc rooms. While it would be nice to have a house with some extra decorations outside and a theme to the house (carbuncles T_T), I care more about just having a place to do gardening for things that are used in crafting as well as opening up the apartments and making them the size of a small house (or a mix between the two) so I can have some extra room then there is now to do things.

Charge us more gil to "upgrade" to a loft or something with a balcony or just an indoor garden. I mean I have an easier time getting the couple million you need to buy the house, I just can't find a house or have the 3 to 5 times the value price to buy it off someone when the rare occasion pops up that someone is selling.

Like I understand the problems with changing a system that's already in place but why not change the instanced content that more people have access to.
