It does, but it isn't used very much apart from the basic "Hello". I don't think I've ever seen any other than the hello, good match, get the medals, targeting the healer buttons.

It's because the buttons they implemented are more cumbersome than helpful.
Stopping and attacking 4 different roles, that's 8 buttons when they could have just made it two (Attack <t> and Stopping <t>). The system is trash and needs to be a punishment or removed. Please hire PvP designers that actually play the game-mode and test these features.
Please before season 4 starts. Changing the rules & adjusting tournament environments (possibly again) within a season is not good sportsmanship.
If you really wanna keep the "free chat"-ban, allowing the existing autotranslate function in feast might be a better choice as to add new buttons every season.
Not really, no.
Ps4 controller layout allows for 8 hotbars with 16 keybinds each. Horizontal and Vertical hotbars are non-functioning unless you rework your system for a mouse and keyboard, so those are out right off the bat. In order to use quick chat on controller, you need to either A) go into your menu and scroll down the list (highly unlikely), or B) assign all the quick-chat options to your active hotbars. To fit all of the quck-chat options onto your hotbars, you would have to use one full hotbar and a half of a second hotbar. Then you have to swap between them in the heat of battle while, somehow, still managing to fight. If they were to add all of the options that we used to be able to just type out in chat, then we would probably be using two or three hotbars just for quick-chat functions alone.
Technically it works, but it also falls somewhere between "beyond clunky" and "damn near unplayable."
You've seen the comments for "suggestions" regarding improvement, but have you seen the more numerous comments saying that the quick chat system itself it a huge detriment and significantly reduces the ability to communicate with your team, not to mention enjoy the Feast? Because it seems that has, and continues to go unanswered, and worse unacknowledged, and that is not okay.
Q: At the moment, every PvPer I have spoken to has claimed the disable of chat in the feast as the major factor to why they don’t want to participate in it anymore. While it’s understood that this is meant to reduce toxicity, but harms the competitive strategies players may develop, as well as means to teach other players. Are there any plans to revert this change?
Yoshida:
I’m planning to make a forum post addressing this by the release of Stormblood, so if you could kindly stand by for more information!

So dont expect any big change the next 3 month.
edit: just noticed it was already posted in the "big" feast chat thread, but whatever

This is how my hotbars are setup. Look at the sheer amount of buttons I have to be mindful of. This gets significantly worse on jobs like Dragoon or Dark Knight. Please explain how the devs expect us to fit, what, thirteen chat commands onto our already bloated hotbars? I appreciate you want to limit toxicity but people just spam "Good match" multiple times whenever someone dies to get around it. There is no "fix" to the chat lock. We want it gone.
