You can simulate a craft with the calculator - you select the skills in the order you want to use them and the calc. tells them wether the raft will be successful or not, and HQ chance (it also takes into consideration all your stats including CP, so if you use up all of it you won't be able to simulate using any more skills).
However you're the one inputting data onto the calculator (skills available to you, your stats, and any food extras, etc) and you're the one selecting the order in which skills are used, the calculator will only deliver to you the results (HQ chance and if it fails or not)

Aye your best bet is to find a rotation on the internet (such as rathes rotation) and then using the calculator, input your stats and the recipe your going to be working on. Then input the rotation from the internet into the simulator. If it's works, then happy days. If not you will need to adjust it to suit. It may require some experimentation. Once you get familiar you can start trying some of your own rotations
