Many typos and no edit on phone. ^_^ But anyway, we don't know how long maint actually takes in these cases because the servers will not be allowed to be opened up early due to fairness with these sort of content updates.

Then you will get raging people screaming "why is that maintenance in the middle of the week, I wanna farm" and schedule a maintenance for weekends would be just stupid since that's time when the most people are online.

they time it around the weekly reset, so everyone has the same 7 day window to get new capped tomes - or in this case - the new upgrade item for i260>i270 tome gear from the new 24 man raid and the lockout for the new i260 raidgear. if they bring the patch later in the week you will have less than 7 days to get the stuff done, wich is even more unfair for people with less time i guess.

that's also the reason the servers will never get live before the weekly reset, even when they finished working on the maintenance. but i think this time official end is one hour after the weekly reset? so maybe they come up early (by 1 hour maximum).

I just hope all my plants will be fine when I log back in. Google searches tell me that plants continue to age while in maintenance.

Patches always happen on Tuesdays, always will. It's the traditional 'new content release' date, which is why all new games come out on Tuesdays. Don't know why it was settled on Tuesday, but that's just how it is.

No, it's 24-hour maint that will finish most likely at the same time that the weekly lockouts reset.

And so SE outsmarts me, maintenance is over 90 minutes early, and they forced weekly reset to occur early to compensate for it. Outstanding work devs, I'm truly surprised and proud this time around :)
