Request: Ability to re-assign class levels after 1.20

Yes. I'm not suggesting a freely available reassignment system; I'm suggesting a one-time* reassignment based on the major changes that are scheduled.

I'm saying that there is a precedent for an MMO developer saying, "OK, we're making major changes, but we recognize that you've already invested the required time in leveling up your character, so we'll allow you to reassign the time you've spent based on how the game works now."

*unless they make similarly groundbreaking changes again, in which case they should offer another reassignment

P.S. I feel the need to point out that this is not a request based on the normal ebb and flow of class pecking order. If that was my intent, I would have asked for it for my ARC at 1.19. This is something totally different; THM is having its native healing abilities completely removed.

Actually, before patch 1.18, THM was unquestionably the superior healer since its AOE is so much larger and has a further range than CNJ. All you had to do was face in the direction you wanted to heal and you'd hit everyone. Not to mention it had the best defense and offense in the game. Ah, I miss the days of stupidly overpowered THM. Luckily, I farmed all those Dodore wings while the getting was good.

Because it's no longer a healer. I'm sorry if that's what you level'd it for, but really you should have level'd the job with the "Cure" spell if you wanted to be a healer.

Or as stated earlier, you should have both leveled if you were that serious.

That's fair enough. I didn't level either at all until after 1.18. I still intend to stand by my point though, as with the way partying and such is done now, I personally find a Radial AoE to be superior to Cone.

A lot of jobs are losing a lot of skills. Should a CNJ rage that they are losing shield skills and demand that they have native shield skills despite that not being the focus of their job?

You misunderstand the point.

I understand that THM is no longer going to be a healer in the new paradigm.
I'm not asking for THM to continue to have healing abilities.
I'm saying that I've already leveled a healing job to 50, so I'd like the option to continue to have a level 50 healing job after the next update.

Sorry, but I don't like this that much. It'll be more like, if I hate Magic (which I really hate) I would level up THM and CON to 50 just to switch their levels on my Fighting classes and having the effect of "Cool! My Pugilist went from 37 to 50!", basically being so powerful without even doing an effort, and that kinda kills the fun. Yeah, I could just not do it, but if everybody does it and your Linkshell requires that you are a L50 Pugilist then you feel constricted to do it.

But that's only my idea, wait for others' feedback =)

Oh, well, the answer is simple then. Level CNJ before the update.

No...seriously. I don't see why you should be entitled to a level shift. You're rewording "I level'd the wrong job! Transfer my levels please."

If tomorrow they said that Gladiator would be given dual wield and turned into a DD job and many it's defensive abilities were going to be given to Marauder, would I be upset? Sure. Am I going to demand my 50 Gladiator levels be transfered over to make my Marauder level 50 because I wanted a tank job? Absolutely not. What I'm going to do is level my Marauder to 50.

I mean, seriously. If they transfered your levels from THM to CNJ, what are you going to do? Level the same job to 50 again in the future?

Why not just accept the change as is and level the new version of CNJ, the ACTUAL healing job, to 50?

Why wouldn't you request this? You leveled a job for a specified role. That role was completely removed.

If I don't have any other option, then sure, I guess I'll level CNJ. But I'd prefer to have the time I've invested in leveling up a healing job preserved. So that's the request I'm making.

Um, no. In the new paradigm, why would any healer level THM? It would be a waste of time.

Again, that's the point. The 50 levels of THM I've already invested won't even help me as a healer if I do level up CNJ.

The point is, there was no way to know which direction SE would go with a class that has both Cure and Flare. Acting as if it was obvious that CNJ could never be BLM is silly.

I don't care if it takes only like a button switch to do this re-assignment process for the devs.

but if it will takes some of the precious devs time just to discuss the process, the risk, the pro/cons, then have to build up another system for re-assignment, then /meh, I'd rather them focus on different things like rainbow pony mounts.

Idk why there is so many of these post, and why I always see it from people who wanted to be a great healer, yet dont have the best sub leveled to 50. Being the best or good, requires you to have both 50 CNJ and 50 THM, with that said... Take a week, get CNJ to 50, hell it'll only take a couple hours a day.
