I like the relic and the process for getting it. It is not necessary for any one else to share this opinion. For me the purpose of the relic weapon is, I enjoy getting the relic weapon. Nothing more nothing less. I used the Zeta relic well into 3.0 until sheer item level requirements made me switch to a higher ilvl weapon to continue.

I never did the ARR relic so when I started the HW one and found out that we would create a living, thinking new soul as a weapon I was like: "Are you serious SE?". I am quite uncomfortable that everyone involved in the story does not really care that much, that they created something living and yet use it as a weapon..and might even make this into a mass-production. If the whole story would have been about how really Grey such a thing is than it might have felt better but I dont remember if we ever had a scene where anyone was against it?
Even if the other way to start the next relic is boring/horrible, I will not turn this anima relict in..I am kinda disappointed that at least till now everyone is totally okay with it (in story) and that SE kinda shows that its okay to create new life just for your own use..

ermm i feel you have misunderstood a point, it's more make a spirit become sentient, more than creating life.... creating life means create from nothing, there we take the spirit of a weapon and awakened it. but in the end it's still a weapon at the base, the fact that the shape evolve with him progression is not really surprizing. but in the end, even if it become the new einstein, him base is a weapon. it means as being it's this. now it's more about create a link between this weapon and you, allowing this weapon to become sentient and be your PARTNER! in battle, because in this world fight is normal, it's not a world where you can go without trouble to town do your grocery, here get out of the town is often leading to trouble.
different world, different rule....

Well its quite sentient for me since it can talk on its own and has wishes..so for me its kinda already alive. And I would not want to go and destroy it for a easier way to get the next weapon because it is kinda sentient. It does not matter to me that its part of a weapon, it still can talk, so its just a no-go to destroy it later.
It may be a different world, but this does not make everything that happens there good. (And I find it bad ;), doesnt mean everyone has to, but it would be nice to at least have one npc in the story that points out that this might be a little too much)

From what I understand, the Zodiac Zeta weapon wasn't destroyed or anything, it was just traded in for the Umbral and Astral Nodes... So it is still intact, but as a part of that one lady's collection somewhere... And you also get a replica of the weapon.
But in terms of the story doing it all, with a sentient weapon especially, is kind of cruel.
"I no longer need you, kthxbai, oh and I got this thing that looks like you."

I'm sort of expecting the manifested form of the anima weapon to be given as a minion at the end of the quest series. This way you can keep it with you even if you give up the weapon eventually.
-
I'd really like our Anima Weapon to became a summon. Something we could use in dungeon like the fairies of the egis.
-
4.0 is still months away and the Anima weapon will be usefull until lv 66.
I just hope that we can transfer the soul into a puppet and the puppet can fight with us as a companion ^^
-
I wouldn't argue if they continue it somehow in 4.0. Dunno the plans for the Anima but either let it move to a new weapon (skipping the first step) or creating a new one all together (more fate grinding for step 1)

I agree. I wish we just kept building up from our zetas.
