Imo remove anima alltogheter, make warping to Aeryths only avaible from cities/other crystals and have it cost a sum of gil which, the cost would be higher the further the Aeryth is from your current location, and like with the airships have it scale with level.
The game could use another gil sink for sure and I for one find the current teleport system is very silly and out of hand, give mage classes access to teleportation and player summining spells instead.
This system we have now punishes casual players and hardcore alike, for example the weeks I cant play my anima sits at 100 getting wasted, and when I do play the anima always runs out and refills way to slow, having ports to camps costing gil solves alot of issues this present system has.
