It's really confusing as to how the dev team didn't foresee greed as a potential issue when it comes to this. What reason could they possibly have for allowing people with houses to buy up apartments too? I mean, like, with how badly they've been at thinking ahead while implementing housing up to this point I guess it's not surprising but still.

As for my plans: I have a house in Lavender Beds but still plan on getting one. And I'd be pretty mad if they locked house-owners out from it.
First of all, I have severe storage problems because all the furniture is already done for when SE releases Ishgard housing but because it keeps getting delayed/not talked about anymore, I need a place to store all that stuff.
Second, I really really miss Limsa since our FC moved away from there. So I'd like to be able to switch between Lavender Beds and Limsa whenever I feel like it.
Third, I honestly think I'll be using it more than most of the people who make a ruckus about house owners buying one right now. At least I have already shown I actually USE the housing I buy.
And last, my house could get auto-demolished at any point for some stupid reason (internet not working after moving, ending up in a hospital, payments getting messed up by the bank, etc. etc.). Apartments are here to stay, so I want a place I will definitely 100% keep even if something happens at some point. -

The long and short of it seems to be that apartments are running off a different set of coding. Perhaps as a means to use the community space for them that's connected to all the rooms.
It would explain why home owners can still get them and why auto-demo is off. -

Life happens and this means that someone may not be able to log in for 45 days. Its a very small window when you consider things like severe illness and/or hospitalisation; that moving houses will lead to loss of connection and many places take say it takes up to 30 days to reestablish; moving countries takes several months just for furniture to arrive, let alone worrying about a 45 day timer on a house.
But hey! They are just lazy!
