Lifetime Airship Pass?

It's just flavor text, SE wouldn't be wise to allow lifetime passes, hopefully. There's way too much gil in this game that they should actually raise prices since they won't wipe the economy to a clean state.

true, though I question the effectiveness of airships as a gilsink... still, it's something.

i dont ride the airships as much as i thought i would cause the price is a little absurd

The whole "games need gil sinks" argument is kind of silly, in my mind. There'll always be things people spend money on. Having people pay nickels and dimes to do X, Y, and Z doesn't take much out of the system, or particularly effect the economy.

then you know absolutely nothing about how economies work. The "things that people spend money on" that you're talking about are mostly transfers of wealth between players, which does not remove gil from the system. Without sufficient gil-sinks, you end up with a continued and ever-expanding inflation as more and more gil are introduced into the system but are never removed. It's economy 101 buddy.

If I remember right: It was 200/500k gil to buy the airship pass in Jeuno on XI? Perhaps there can be some sort of equivalent for that in XIV as well...Perhaps 5-7 mil would be reasonable? It's really easy to make gil just from questing in Eorzea after all. That, plus anima almost rules out the use of airships to begin with.

Damn, I feel like a damn spoiled brat riding the airship and teleporting everywhere right out the gate. This world has gone mad, MAD I TELL YOU!

The reason choco's were 800g to even begin with is because they knew using Chocobo as gil sink wouldn't work or else they'd need to add Chocobo people at every single camp/aetherite/hamlet. Even then it wouldn't be an on-demand content because you'd still be restricted to when you can use chocobo.

As for lifetime airship pass they could just give them out to people who have 18/18 50s. They are already doing something similar to this in 1.20 (all jobs at L36 = some crown thing).

Screw air passes, I want my own Airship!
