Enough with the Feast matchup nonsense

At least you have a 50/50 chance. We don't even have that on Primal. 9 out of 10 matches, you will be guaranteed to have a new healer who doesn't have a clue what they're doing. The other 1 time, your healer will be a troll who is only there for tomes. I dropped 100 pts yesterday because I got the same asshat 3 matches in a row who couldn't keep anyone alive. He admitted that he was only there to finish his challenge log. I just stopped queuing after that. The queues were fast, but there's no point in taking advantage of them if I'm guaranteed to get a healer who's only there to watch me die and has no interest in even trying to get better.

Looks like Yoshi's plan of getting more ppl in pvp is working. I stopped the feast one week after it first went live knowing that something like this might happen. I already deal with this in FL so I don't need another mode where RNG > Skill. Is a simple matchmaking lobby in a PVP mode that hard to implement?

I started feast 2 weeks ago. Made it to silver on 1st day. Played for like 3 days more and couldn't get out of 600. I stated back up again yesterday and made it to 900. I think it's fine the matchmaking

See the thing with matchmaking is that if you're any decent, it is very easy when you start. You end up getting matched against a gold healer with a gold dps on your team and they get an unranked dps to "balance" things out. That usually ends up with the gold healer having to deal with sometimes as much as 50% extra damage and better coordinated burst/cc. That's hardly fair.

You might change your mind once you start being on the other side of the matchup. I know I've felt pretty bad for multiple healers I've beaten when I knew they played a better match than I did but just had worse teammates.

It really depends on how lucky you are with your teammates.

I went through something similar. I got to silver super quick and made it all the way to gold qualifiers. Then I got a fresh healer, and another, then two fresh dps, etc. I dropped all the way down from 900 pts to 400, and my 75% win rate was decimated to around 50%. It's not a unique story, either. If you look at the current standings, around half of the top 100 players are still in silver rank (at least on Primal), because that entire rank (and gold, to some degree) is just a giant bleed on points. If you pull a gold healer in your match, then one or both of your dps will be bronze or unranked. If you pull gold dps, then your healer is likely unranked or bronze. A lot of the time the unranked players are completely new, so no matter what you do, you end up with a deficiency on your team, and there's not much you can do to cover for it. It's a team game, after all. It's not designed for one or two players to carry the whole group, no matter how skilled those players are.

Just curious but how is the light party feast doing atm? because if its not dead yet all these issues about matchmaking would go away in premade settings. I think SE never intended solo que to be the "superserious" mode for feast so thats why they made both solo and premade options, i could be wrong but personally i cannot see solo que as competitive mode for obivious reasons.

If the problem is that players are scattered around datacenters then why they dont just make "lobby zone" like the TT one they are making for pvp, there you can make premade party even if all of you are from diffirent servers. This should breath some new life to light party feast.

Solo queue isnt a problem if the matchmaking would be better. Party Ranked is dead and full of wintraders thats why devs didnt wanted rewards for it but since everyone complained we have now split q and longer waiting times. Also if they removed party ranked q and actually SHOW us the rewards we get at the start of season ppl would may bother with. Party Ranked doesnt work with such a small population of pvper (maybe if it gains more population) also it has the same problem as statics (schedule etc).

In primal we host mini events for party 4v4, it's actually alive and kicking! I think everyone on the board is legit right now too... It's way less frustrating than soloq and I suggest players from other datacenters to get their communities together and do party 4v4.

It is something that is scheduled though... You can just say "I want to 4v4", without finding people from other servers who want to as well.
