Put yourself in the translator's shoes. Are you going to bring out questions that need to be translated if the Japanese already asked them? If anything, the ones they mentioned as coming from foreigners are ones the Japanese didn't ask at all, while the others are ones that both foreigners AND Japanese asked. Why go to Germany for a question the guy down the street asked too?

By the way, for all the complaining I see, this live show was specifically identified as focusing on 2.0 weeks ago. Why are you so surprised that they did exactly what they said they would?

I do somewhat agree, the live letter was a let down, I thought the first one was also.

I was expecting a lot more info about skill changes and jobs this time, maybe some in game videos of job classes in action, in game models of AF gear etc.

Information and specifics on party search and marketward search.

Instead we got some silly stuff like ridding frikkin goobbues /sigh

As I said last time it would be better for Yoshi to go through the questions asked and answer them in a written letter, there is nothing stopping him/them adding pictures and videos to illustrate the up comming changes.

Hopefully we get a letter in a few days about the skill changes.

As someone else above pointed out, most of the questions being asked are probably from Japanese fans due to the ease of not having to translate them first.

Like I said, 2.0 is indeed "beyond" 1.20. But there are more pressing questions than jumping in a game with nothing designed around it.

You know the problem with this right? Even if it had been a written letter people would still complain there was not enough information or anything that THEY wanted to hear about. It's the same thing every single time and the same complaints happen every single time. Sorry but they'll only give us the information they are ready to give at a certain time and it doesn't have to fit with our schedules or desires.

This whole live letter deal is unnecessary. I honestly loved the PDF presentation of 2.0 when they announced it. I absolutely despise watching something in another language when there is no subtitles. Also when it gets translated on twitter, at that point the information may as well have been released via a nice and tidy pdf package, or on the lodestone. By the JP, for the JP (not that that is a bad thing, i just have western games to focus on now until things like this won't bother me as much when all I have to worry about is riding gobbues and polishing my oversized crown).

What you are asking of the Letter from the Producer, Live or otherwise, is something that is in contrast with Yoshi's policy. He will not show or discuss anything that he can't promise will come to pass. The topics were 1.19 and 1.20 and beyond/the future of FFXIV. He has expressed several time the Future of FFXIV is 2.0, so the questions and answers were correct in all sense, no one needs to be blamed, they were valid questions and answers all around. 1.19 is a dead topic already as we know that fixes to some things are coming in 1.20.

In regards to 1.20, we have next to no details on it besides that we will be given a preview on how skills will be moved around to provide feedback, the dye process will be fixed, ALC, GSM and CUL will be overhauled (Correct me if I'm wrong on CUL), achievements will be introduced and the HQ will be introduced in full along with the final touches on recipes for all classes throughout. What else do you need to know about 1.20 that will not be revealed as we approach the date of patch release?.

Before you post anything, please, think about what and why is it that you are posting. You simply wanted information that could not be given (Which we already have a clear overview with the PDF's files released) as it goes opposite to Yoshi's stance on promises that can't be kept.

Kind of a waste of time to do it live then really.

I have no idea why they are doing this live for that matter, perhaps they thought it would make the experience more personal or something, but its probably not worth the time, hassle or money to do it.

Agree with Jackdaniels regarding the PDF stuff, that should be how future letters should be laid out.

So he "won't show things that may not come to pass" but can show us wireframe models of mounts they may or may not put in the game in a year? But yet 1.20 content is still considered more up in the air than that?

What's the point in these letters at all if his policy is to not discuss things?

When you tell people you're going to discuss the current patch and the one that's onlyy a few weeks away is it too much to expect them to talk about exactly that and not maybes in the distant future.

I don't really get your response. You try to justify him giving specifics about junk content a year away by saying he doesn't give specifics about content.

Again, this thing was just one big failed opportunity to create some buzz when we're expected to hand over subscriptions in about a month.

What do you mean a reason?... because the game will be at release standard come 1.20 with clearly defined classes based on skills, functional crafting system (Barring the mini-game), functional player search and item search through the wards, and most important of all a fun to play game.

On the second part of your question, doing all content in one fell swoop? I understood that as releasing everything on 2.0 and nothing in between, what are we supposed to do for one year then? complain there is no content? if there is no content no one will play...

Just like we have been doing with Ifrit and the rest of the game, dealing with it. The servers will be overhauled by 2.0, this does not mean no further enhancements will be made along the way. An initiative taken by SE can be seen by the sticky they released for ping and IP responses depending on region/ISP provider, etc

Yes, PLD will be the only job that tanks, the others are pretty much DD's, WAR seems that might be able to tank to some extent and DRG and MNK will probably be able to avoid attacks in some way to no receive massive damage.

It will never be taken away, just relocated to a NPC.

I thought this was slated for 1.20 when the HQ recipes will be finalized too, no?

Late November/early December. I thought this was known and released on the PDF's files.

I don't know jack of game development, so I could not tell you when this is supposed to be ready for QA. But, this goes in accordance to my previous post, Yoshi will release info on changes that he knows will be kept the same or similar.

As you can see, some of your questions we already have knowledge about them. You just wanted all details provided to you one month in advance of the patch release date. Please be more patient.
