Yoshida said that aslong a % of players are PS3 players, they will not cut if off. I remember reading somewhere on Siliconera that alot of Japanese players still play XIV with their PS3.

PS3 is missing many HUD options, and PS4 has an option to give depth and detail to textures. The PS3 is slow...hardly loads anything....takes FOREVER to load what it does....the PS3 has no advantages period over the PS4 and PC....I know.
