To be fair, it's actually one fairy, just with two different forms.
What's funny is that summoners get pet glamours JUST FOR SUMMONERS AND NO ONE ELSE and still act like spoiled brats, while scholars are planned to get nothing even though there's more reason for them to get a third fairy as a damage/questing pet.
Mechanically speaking, there's no need for summoners to have more egis. What could they POSSIBLY do that would make them not just unique, but practical in multiple settings? An AoE pet won't happen since summoners not only have the best AoE damage in the game, but it'd just be easier to buff the baseline AoE skills of the other egis. No need for a crowd control egi since crowd control is only ever used on very few occassions, and even then, there are so many mobs in late game that are immune to CC skills such as Sleep that there would be no point for such a pet to exist. A debuffing egi may seem like a possibility until you realize that making it powerful enough to be of any use would risk making the two damage egis pointless, especially given the lack of summoners making use of both of the current damage egis rather than the more common playstyle of swearing by only one of them.
Summoners are getting egi glamours because devs know that this is the best way of giving new egis when crunching out ways making more actual summoner pets is a mechanically fruitless endeavor. Summoners will get egi glamours which, especially after going through this thread, is far more than what some of these crybaby summoners deserve.
