Low level tanks (pre-tank stance) have a very hard time holding threat after the nerf

And stop saying it is all tanks. From what i've seen, of the 3, PLD is the only one having any of these issues.

Personally i'ts only really in the 28-40 range that I find paladin struggles a little bit as most dps are hitting there full combos and stuff in this level range and it can be tricky to keep on top of hate in cases where dps are attacking multiple mobs.

it'd also be a really easy fix. just swap the oaths. give shield at 30 sword at 40 problem solved... (would also bring it in line with other tanks who get there tank stance at 30)

GLA/PLD pre-RoH and pre-ShO is propably worst tanking experience you can have, its doable but when you compare it to WAR or even DRK diffirence is like night and day. Also i agree with swapping oats, i still dont get it why they havent done it already, i mean WAR and DRK gets their tank stance at lvl30 why not PLD aswell?

Just got done doing another character up to 50 not too long ago, to test this myself. No problems at all except when dealing with DPS that have their job unlocked, are over geared, and level synced, in which case they were riding on hate pre RoH. No problems on Mrd or Drk.

Don't agree that low level content doesn't matter. Think they should build a advanced novice training hall to help people actually learn their job. Certainly would help new tanks, this thread is a good indication of that.

The game is so tank starved that you will almost always with highly geared/levelled synced people end up. As people mentioned already few times PLD not getting their tanking stance before 40 is not something you need a novice hall for, lol. It almost seems to more feasible to get through the painful range by FATE levelling which seems a process dreaded by the community when done by tanks ("oh the FATE levelled tank").

Two things:
1 -
The only tank who has issues sub-30 is PLD.
PLD got a buff to Savage Blade enmity generation in 3.2, which is your main enmity combo pre-26.

2 -
If anything, tanking got /easier/ with the "nerfs" for the low-level tanks.
The vast majority of tanks leveling were using VIT accessories, NOT STR accessories, since they're inherently "correct" when you look at things.
A VIT-spec'd tank in full VIT gear got buffed by the changes in 3.2, not nerfed.
They are dealing more damage and generating more enmity now than before.


Tanks pre-3.2 were already shit at holding hate in low level dungeons. There's a lot of tanks that don't even know they're playing a tank Job. My brother once started an instance with a tank who told him (the LNC in the group) that he should tank. It's not 3.2 that made these things become issues - they've always been issues.

I made a post about this a long time ago and got yelled at a good bit.

Developers really don't like the Tank classes. :P

I suppose I could, but then people will just suggest they must not have known their rotation and/or that I was pulling threat too fast. Something, anything, that it is player fault and not an issue with the game design itself at low levels for tanks.

My goal here isn't to convince other players who enjoy trolling in these forums that there is a problem and they should get behind it. That's not going to happen, since trolls are trolls. See FallenWings above, who seems to pop up in every thread I make just to talk crap.

Rather it's to create a thread where other players experiencing the same thing can voice their frustration and maybe, just maybe, someone at SE will pay attention to it.

They nerfed STR's contribution to damage output, but even with similar VIT, tank DPS went down substantially across the board by about 15%. As SE doesn't give us hard numbers on enmity, they just tell us they buff enmity but not by how much.

Personal experience and only a small sample, but I've been leveling MCH 30-40 recently in dungeons and the tanks have been doing fine, PLD or otherwise. And I don't pull any punches, I multidot, aoe, burst wildfire with full buffs and all that. Maybe MCH isn't the strongest DPS class but honestly, every tank capable of using Flash a couple of times has done just fine.

If anything, the "nerf" is a boon to early tanks. The enmity rotations all got modifier buffs, and now the vit gear they spec with as they level actually offers damage. Leveling my tanks I always ran with dinky vit accs and never had a problem even before the changes, which put me at a numerical disadvantage compared to early tanks after the changes.
