Even after avoiding the aetherial tchnobabble that could affect his person, he's just not himself anymore. IMO, I never cared for the dude in the first place, but now its gone from "petty squabble I can't RP" to "honest disagreement I could RP".

Let's give Raubahn "Ifrit" Aldynn a hand for his performance. :D
What a cutscene beast.
I like that we kinda seem to be seperate from the rest of the Scions nowadays, they've got dozens of people doing odd jobs from the Rising Stones now. Us, Krile, Alphi, Thancred and Yshtola are sorta like the head honchos who pop in every now and again.
I find its interesting that in no way was Minfillia's fate described as tempering, or anything related to primal tactics, yet the parallels are inescapable.
I do have to say... the Grand Melee fight is a lot of fun, and is something that I would most definitely welcome doing again.
Minfilia:
The theories that involved her being taken over by Hydaelyn proved to be correct. She did not sound entirely pleased by her fate and I can't help but feel as though Hydaelyn coerced her and did not tell her - or us - everything. It's easy for Hydaelyn to blame Zodiark but I suspect that there is much more to the conflict between Light and Darkness than 'Good' and 'Evil'.
Triad:
Garlean involvement isn't all that surprising. If they plan to go down the FF6 route, though, one has to wonder why they introduced a completely new Emperor...especially if he's just going to be betrayed and killed off. I suspect that there may be a twist. Regula could very well be Tempered by the Triad...or driven insane by Allagan technology. Perhaps it's just me but he seemed slightly rougher around the edges than before.
Krile:
Interesting that she mentioned being the sole survivor of the destruction of the Isle of Val. Hydaelyn saved her but left others to perish - so she definitely plays favourites despite claiming to love 'all of her children'.
Estinien:
I sort of expected him to show up. It seems like we'll be dealing with him as the main antagonist of 3.3. I like that Alphinaud is trying to save him. I hope he breaks away from the rest of the Scions as they ultimately become more cynical and jaded. If we can't save Estinien, though, I imagine that'll send Alphinaud over the edge.
Side notes:
- Aymeric's wound being problematic was a neat touch.
- I liked the motives and passionate speech of the maid during the chaos in Falcon's Nest. Her position was easy to sympathise with and it made sense - and I'd love to see more of that sort of thing in the future to make conflicts even more morally dubious.
Will add more when not so knackered - I just really need to get this off my ashamed chest...
The Grand Melee was cool... I only have one problem... and that is that I am absolutely wrought with disgust and shame over having to fight for the Ishgardian side and not at the side of my sworn nation, Ul'dah (even if them other two were there also)... digging the dagger further in was that I had to wear that armour!
To all of my Immortal Flame's out here/there, I am sorry; however, I will forgive this forced allegiance for one reason... and that is I got to fight the man himself, Raubahn, and he was awesome. /flamesalute
