Here I was finally allowing myself to rewatch game play footage of my time with Sanadaiyeve four years ago. All the friends I met, all battles, all our victories, laughing together, crying together. Laying down half conscious in the grass contemplating our feels after a marmot beat us half dead. All the magical encounters, meeting Y'shtola, Merlwyb, Kan-E-Senna, everyone for the first time. What I wouldn't give to relive 1.0. Every second of it.
And here's this thread talking about FFXIV and the faint remainder of it's 1.0 soul, dying with finality.
Crying so much a new shroud would grow in Thanalan. I hope FFXIV never dies. It's the most amazing experience I've ever had. I broke my life long promise of addiction to FFXI for FFXIV 1.0. I hope FFXIV remains forever so I can always hang out with my sister Sanadaiyeve. I want to grow old with her, with Y'shtola T_T, with Merlwyb, everyone. I love you FFXIV. When ?.0's death takes 1.0's aether with it so too shall it take mine.
I was going to suggest they could do something similar to what they did with FFXI and remix the main theme (XI's was the Vana'diel March) into a song (with players humming the chorus at the end), but then I realised that Answers has sort of always been FFXIV's main theme...
So idunno. Twilight Over Thanalan song?
And in the 2.0 credits.
Such a great cover. If this was recorded inside a high-end professional recording studio with quality fixes, it would had been epic.
Maybe I should take back all that stuff I said about "FF14's story ending." I just remembered the long, long history of Eorzea's Astral/Umbral Eras. Who's to say time would stop after this one?
Still, I didn't think I'd slice so many onions while listening to a cover of one of my favorite Final Fantasy songs. I hope Erutan realizes that her cover is actually good, and that anyone who says otherwise probably didn't even truly listen to it.
