Motorcycle mini-game at Gold Saucer please
I love how a major issue people and SE had with this apparently..is that it moves at the same speed as other mounts...meanwhile...fat bloody chocobo moves at the same speed as every other mount in the game and doesn't slow down at all due to weight ...which raises the question...WHY DOES IT MATTER HOW FAST IT GOES?!?!? And on top of that..it's from another FF game in the first place so the it breaks immersion excuse doesn't work either because ...we have freaking robotic walkers ..and robotic golems or whatever ...and a motorcycle doesn't fit? GG lol
They are reluctant to put it in because it looks kind of awkward at the current mount speed.
Release it in game, make it the reward for a long quest line involving a joint effort between the Ironworks and Nero tol Scaeva to build a machine based on the ideas of some unimportant Garlean engineer (who may or may not be of the nan Shinra family) for a rapid transport for Garlean scouts and messengers.
Give it normal movement speed for mounts which would make it sort of putter along grandpa's mobility scooter, but as an extra ability (similar to the 'attacks' that some mounts like the Magitek Armors and Goobbues have) it has a "Full Throttle" mode that can be activated if one is in possession of "High Octane Ceruleum" fuel which would be a consumable item along the lines of Gyshal Greens for companions or Mission Ceruleum/Ceruleum Tanks for FC airships.
Using Full Throttle boosts movement speed to something appropriate for a proper badass motorcycle for a limited time, say around 15 seconds. The item has a cool down of 10 seconds so theoretically you could keep Full Throttle on constantly - as long as you're fueled up. While under Full Throttle status, the bike automatically moves forward at full speed and turning is less responsive. A Fuel Cut ability is also available to cancel Full Throttle at any time - forfeiting any unused fuel time.
Finally make the fuel purchasable from a few Ironworks-affiliated NPCs scattered around the world in exchange for allagan tomestones, as well as being able to refined from Airship Cerulean Tanks in FC workshops (but not sellable on the MB).
Full Throttle. Wonderful game.
Yeah I have no issue with a slow motorcycle. Flying mounts have sporadic wind gusts, and various speeds of wing flappage. Motorcycle can have the various "wind gusts" and variable "speed noises" as well. But still go the grandpa mobility scooter speed. And I'd still love it.
To quote a line from The LEGO Movie - "What part of NO don't you understand?!" SE have made themselves clear this will never be released - it was just a joke by the developers. Even ignoring the fact that Cloud's bike simply breaks the game's lore (I'm not talking about motorcycles period, I'm talking about just how ridiculous Cloud's Advent Children bike would be suddenly in Eorzea.), it's already been made clear that it's appearance is terrible running at the standard mount speed in FFXIV. There's only so much handwaving can do before such fanservice just looks stupid. And no amount of whining, and pleading SE to release it will make them change their minds. They made their decision, they're sticking to it.
And I'm glad that SE are sticking to their guns and that it's not being added to the game.
My Immersion! :o
Well they have already done some ridiculous things in the name of cross promotion and other things. With all the building and technology in the world, to me it is more believable to have some THING that could be made in this world and can be given to the player to test (sort of like the node minion, show her the world!) versus some ONE appearing just for the sake of cross advertising.
Actually they announced they WILL be releasing this mount to celebrate the episodic FF7 remake. Expect the front tire to ship in 2019 when FF7 Chapter 01 hits stores, the handlebars will arrive in 2021 along with Chapter 02, the seat will get pushed back with Chapter 03 until 2024, and the rear tire will be cancelled after the Capcom/ Square Enix merger of 2026 since "CapSEcom" will announce plans to reboot the FF7 remake on the PS6.
Please look forward to it.
