The problem you have with Minfilia is that her Life Journey is not the focus of ARR/HW, ours is.

If it helps, think of her as 'M' and yourself with the last name of 'Bond'. The story revolves around the hero, every time.

Minfilia is the leader of an organization that has more people involved than the hero-types like us. You can get a small flavor of that during leveling if you visit the back room and talk with everyone there between levels 20 and 30+. You can get some of her back-story while leveling in your 40s.

I'm more curious as to who the throwback boss at the end of the Antitower is. Anyone intimately familiar with old titles have any ideas as to who this might be?

They mentioned that the name had to be retconned like Typhon/Aerith, if that narrows it down.

Calling it now Hydealyn is secretly a Evil Elder Primal using the Warrior of Light to make the world Fat with Aether so she can devour all Aether in the world thus devouring all life and Minfillia is her Human Host resulting so the story can have a way for the player to have a actual Boss battle to defeat Hydealyn after the WoL finally breaks free from Hydealyn influence that made the WoL such a Happy Helper person.

IF anyone needs to get hit with the Doom Train, it's Alphinaud.

Are people forgetting the scene where Hydaelyn is bright red? Maybe this picture with Minfillia is a red-herring.

And while it is safe to assume there will be some form of plot twists in 3.2, I seriously doubt it'll be something like the mothercrystal was evil all along (which would be pretty bad writing) since now you have to do something with Midgardsormr, who also formed a pact with her.

She refering to the ending of 2.0 where the there was a Dark Mother Crystal completely black in appearance. We have yet to learn what that Echo vision means yet but people believe it is either Hydealyn is secretly evil or there is some kind of Evil Counter-part of Hydealyn that looks just like Hydealyn mostly assumed to be Zodiac
