I actually had to carry less gears around for my jobs with the optimal system, but it doesn't really affect me all that much as I use macros to switch jobs and gear at the same time.

I don't care what you think you said. The point is: if Optimal system is the best of both worlds, then they should keep it. It also remains to be seen whether it failed, because it was never given a chance to fail.

And not everyone has time to set 1293234 macros for all their classes and replace each text command with a new item of gear everytime they buy a new piece of gear or need to replace their gear for materia-grinding.

What a chore. Who cares about language-specific servers, give me a server with optimal/favoured system, and I will gladly put up with japanese people excluding me.

if you're going to say the optimal system is "horrible for everyone", then perhaps you can excuse people for thinking you hate it. Even if you don't explicitly hate the thing you call "horrible for everyone", implicit in that vernacular is that you do. So if you don't want people to accuse you of thinking things you don't actually believe, then my suggestion would be to actually tell people what you believe instead of confusing them by saying the opposite of what you believe.

This is a forum for expressing opinions. Saying things like "this would suck... oh but I don't hate it btw" isn't exactly communication. it's just confusion.

But I grow tired of teaching you how to communicate. So just drop it and try to actually discuss the thing at hand, rather than saying it's horrible and then reneging on your statement, if you're able to do that, that is.

I said it's good "for end users like you", who obviously puts ease of use/accessibility above all else, and "economically, it's horrible for just about everyone else" because of the hugely negative impact to the in-game economy.

before you try to teach others how to communicate, teach yourself how to read first.

Either you like the system or you don't, or some intermediate thereof. It seems like you hate it from your vernacular and comments. So sue me if that's the impression I get. if that's not what you think, explain as to why... jeesh I didn't know it was so hard. Maybe you need a macro for it?

B) Cant be slotted with materia

The only person even bothering to form an argument is Aenarion, and his argument is that it's bad for the economy, but at the same time he recognises that an optimal system could be good for the economy too.

The optimal system is flexible, and with more information from the UI, it is self-explanatory which gear is bad and which is good. There's no need to place an artificial restriction ontop of the suggestive one, except for AF gear (at which point it becomes an issue oh job distinctiveness).

Why is it so hard for people to explain why something is bad/good?

Just saying "you shouldnt wear R50 gear at R1" or (my favourite) "not sure if troll" aren't exactly arguments. They're just statements about nothing.

All I ask is that you explain why you think something is good/bad so I at least have something to work with when I reply/correct you.

I think it is so annoying to be naked everytime when you change class. I m okay with nerfing all the status, but at least let me wear it for temporary please!
..not like to be completely naked really.
