This, all I have done so far is what I normally do, roulettes, treasure maps, beast tribes, I'm almost halfway and that's only cause I am doing it at a casual style. I'd be further if I really wanted to go all out but meh...no rush in it.

If I had more Beast Tribes at the required rank I'd have more progress than currently, but meh. Slightly annoyed that Ixal wasn't counted even though the step includes crafting
The real reason I don't like Anima is because it is basically light farming, rebranded. Think about it. You have an option for what you would like to grind out (dungeons, beastmen quests, maps, stuff that would give you tomestones), and then you go do it. Just like light farming. You're just doing it in a different form. I was hoping for something more unique. As easy as Chimera and Hydra were, they were still something unique and fun for a relic quest. I know the weapons quests will always be a bit grindy, but I was hoping the first few steps would be more original and fun to do... not just throwing you right into the fray.
(Also, I have no issue doing this grind, and I am currently in the middle of it. I just wish the new quest were a bit more creative.)
Except my main, which is Ninja, isn't the best weapon. That title goes to gordias A4S weapons and sadly my static broke up recently so no way to farm A4S. Sadly, unless they let us tweak the stats like they did before, it's actually the worst weapon out of the 4 possible options. You need to take stats into account as well and I have no motivation atm to go for a weapon that has the inferior stats compared to the rest.
It wasn't a bait or troll thread I genuinely think the community wanted easy mode for a 210 weapon then got pissed at the repetitive time sink.... the same time sink and repetitiveness you would have faced if you cleared savage, or a different stage 3 that required running the hard content in the game. The outcome would have been the same.
Not bait you say? You come in here basically telling people to "git gud" at getting their Anima and stating anyone who whines wants handouts, yet you couldn't be bothered to actually look up WHY people are complaining about Anima. What did you THINK was going to happen after people read your opening post? Anima is far from handout; it's just a massive time sink that the devs made a lot longer because they done goofed with Alexander Savage and didn't want Anima weapons to outclass raid weapons.
Yeah, well said. Totally a bait thread.
It's not (It wasn't?) so much about the lack of handout for most, but rather the lack of creativity to get it.
Step 1: A variation of the 'atma' grind.
Step 2: A variation of uhh.. whatever that step was for clearing dungeons for a drop.
Step 3: Forcing old/obsolete content on people because they couldn't figure out a way to keep people doing the content for more than 1-2 months to begin with.
The other reason I found people mad/upset is how late in the patch it came versus the amount of time it takes. Half of this is due to the general 'lack of content' opinion people already have in regards to 3.0 and 3.1 in combination with the excessive wait for 3.1 to drop. The other half is that 3.2 and a higher ilvl is right around the corner. There is an extremely good chance that 3.2 will allow Void Ark/Hunts to drop 200-->210 upgrade items instead of A4S, along with the nerfing of A3S/A4S they have already confirmed. Both of which will take a fraction of the time compared to farming final stage.
Also, lets throw Thordan weapons in the mix. Sure, they are only 205, but really, unless your in a hardcore group going for speed run clears, a 205 weapon will be more than enough to last you till you get your 220 weapon from whatever 3.2 brings.
I'm not mad but I REALLY don't wanna grind out alexander.
It's not so much the grind that's irritating as much as how it is going about it.
Atma grind again is pretty annoying as well as doing all of those level 50 dungeons for no apparent reason. Why is doing 50 content to progress a level 60 quest even a thought to developers? people are already doing 50's regularly for the roulette bonus
and then the grind at the end is just so... wtf?
a lot of the best things to grind are very very old content.
Grinding beast tribes that you already have to have at the top rank daily for tokens
old world hunts being far more valuable than heavensward hunts?!
level 50 tokens being among the very best resources towards completion??
and then the way it is kind of designed to be all consuming
just got a new class to 50 and want to gear out in ironworks? too bad you need those poetics for anima
just hit 60 and want to get yasha to start doing experts? too bad you need those law for anima
want to do vanu vanu quests to speed up leveling? going to have to sacrifice the much more efficient level 50 beastmen
want to use your level 50 queues for leveling? have to sacrifice all the extra anima progress you'd get doing them at 60
it just goes on and on
I mean like the games central idea seems to be the your encouraged to work with every class and play them all freely and the anima quest seems to run counter to it completely.
and then that dev response of "well we made alexander super crappy therefore we have to make everything else suck as much or worse" is just wtf too
even people i know that managed to keep an alex group together for savage 4 and are just covered in 210 weapons already were like "f this game" when they saw this grind
