I remember once the devs gave a tongue-in-cheek answer that going barefoot would be a horrible idea in Eorzea.. Screw that, I've wanted to go barefoot since 1.0! Stupid ugly sandals.. ; ;

Bearfoot ? Its delicious,you know.
any updates on the 'barefoot' thing yet ?
The new expansion will enable us to swim and dive... do they expect us to carry those weights forever ? what if we drown lol
Last I heard they used some lame joke excuse about how you would hurt feet if you didn't have any shoes one, yea sure.... but running around glamoured in bikini is perfectly fine. Anyways I really hope they do add a barefoot option, especially since they adding swimming in the expansion.
Apparently I have a really cheap sense of humor but when I read this I thought it'd be funny if they said they would add it but when you wear the item it gives you bearfoot. xD...
Wonder if the reason they don't want to add barefoot as an option quite yet is because the bottom is texture-less and megaflat, so looking at the bottom of the foot would be awful looking. Otherwise I don't see why they wouldn't add it, I think at least.
Yeah, what's the issue here Square Enix!?...
I've also been wanting to go barefoot whenever I wish and I simply cannot,PS3 limitationsor code limitations or cheap models!?...
I'm absolutely sure this is the best time for you to fix this by upgrading the character models and giving us back that appearance from 1.0 plus more customization, just great for Stormblood's release!...
I'm pretty sure I saw a npc that sells the glamor for nothing on. The one that gives the quest next to the prism npc?
You talking about the emperor's new sandals? It does not actually remove your footwear it still leaves a default sandal on your character's feet.

They can create a new "foot model" for barefoot option.
I don't know if this happens with other races, but I saw something. As lalafell, I tried the Lord's Clogs (those from from Moonfire Faire), and the Little Lord's Clogs (from Little Ladies Day), and... the model is different. I'm not talking about the flat feet from the Lord's, I'm talking about the ankles. The ankles starts upper with the Little Lord's than with the Lord's.
For barefoot option they can do the same: a different model with lower ankles, so the soles can be at the floor.
