Thoughs on removing cross class skills and adding 5 new skills for each job come 4.0?

So you want to remove the staple cross skill we have and replace them with identical skills with effects that we already have? So instead of getting anything new we just get recycled stuff that removes the illusion of choice? It more sounds like you are angry about having to level multiple classes for your cross skills.

this demand look like people don't want to spend time to get the skill from other class.... it will bring nothing news and like said before some skill are too much needed like swiftcast, invigorate,... it will force SE to create doublon skill for make sure jobs that need it get it.

where the actual system force people to try other jobs, it allows them to broad them view about the game and acquire more usefull experience.

No disrespect, but not taking Mercy Stroke as a Dragoon is a waste - period. It is ltierally a free 200 potency attack whenever the mob is below 20% HP. Compare this to:

Foresight - +Defense
Featherfoot - +Evasion (lol)
Haymaker - On-GCD 170 potency, requires a dodge first (unusable in a raid scenario, supposedly might be good for solo)
Fracture - DPS loss/wash
Skull Sunder - Massive waste of DPS.

Mercy stroke is your one required skill that raises your DPS, which is our job. The only alternative to it is really Forseight.

If you're not crossing Mercy Stroke, you're doing DRG wrong.

no i want new skills but i know we cant get a new skills without resolving skill bloat and getting rid of cross-class skills does come with its issues and its silly that you'd make the assumption im angery about needing to level up any job.

and also who said i want to replace all those cross class skills with identical skills i only said that for the case of the skills that are far too vital to the job to just flat out remove hell i bet they could come up with unique ways to achieve the desired result without simply making a copy of said skill.

there will most likely be skill trees/modifiers in the next expansion. not new skills but ways to modify the ones we already have on a fight by fight basis.
For example take any DoT ability:
1.one option could be the original ability
2.another could be reduced potency of the DoT but receive healing from the ability
3. 3rd option could be remove the DoT and just add its potency onto the initial hit

would mean there is more preperation for battles and rotation may have to be adjusted based on which you use for which fights

Ok.. So what happens when you get synced when doing, for example, Ravanna NM? No dps cooldowns, no cleric stance on AST/SCH, no swiftcast on any healer, no provoke if the MT happens to die. If these abilities are all 62+, wouldn't that gimp any 60 and down content?

Could probably have the skill learned via a 62 quest, but make the level of the skill itself level 20.

sorta like how when you do AST, you do one quest to unlock the job at 30, but they still have pre-30 skills for levelsynch balancing.

well can do it 2 ways one being what the guy above me said or another way would just be for the cross class skills to simply be used in the place of current skills when level synched down since its not like you'd be removing cross class skills out of the game entirely.
