BLM brings Apoc which is stronger for one target than Supervirus with a longer cooldown (useful for tank busters, prey and the like).

BLM has manaward which although has been nerfed since 2.0 makes them easier to heal than other ranged dps for certain mechanics like prey, handling adds, etc.
Similarly, manawall, when used properly adds to their survivability while other ranged classes simply don't have a comparable ability (Second Wind would be most comparable and not even all physical dps can cross-class it).
Regular Virus is also available for physical tank busters and raid-wide attacks.

And movement in all fights, at least up to A3S IMExp, is overrated and mostly unneeded.

The problem is *most* BLMs don't use any of these abilities at all.
