WAR is 3% ahead of DRK, WAR is 8.5% ahead of PLD. If you want to put PLD at equal footing with the other tank, throw away your shield or make the other tanks as safe as PLD. Please drop the whole BS about PLD not doing enuogh DPS.

PLD probably only needs some quality of life adjustments regarding stance dancing, a way to restore TP when Offtanking which DRK also needs, and some way around the huge DPS penalty from Shield Oath. Given the current raid design PLD's safety net has kinda become less useful. They probably tried to address the latter with Divine Veil (a good skill) and Clemency, which turned out to be a bit of a misfire since there's a bunch of things that work together to make it a relatively poor skill.

The decay is 30-50dps but you ideal FoF come back off CD right as they take off and you can then push damage back up after the jump.

An idea:

Shield Swipe: 250 Potency. Increased Enmity. Half or No TP cost(Probably not needed). While under Shield Oath, this skill does not suffer the damage penalty from Shield Oath.

Reasoning: Shield Oath would imply priority usage of shield and thus the damage loss which is mostly sword attacks makes sense. So if the shield is forward, why would it suffer a damage penalty?

and I guess Shield Bash as well...

Pot increase for obvious reasons.

Quick thoughts:

Sword Oath also increases enmity by 10%. Since the other tanks have their damage increase in the form of % damage up across skills which inadvertently affects their enmity skills as well, it would answer the SwO aggro issue while maintaining the same damage output.

Sword Oath additional damage potency on auto attacks have increased enmity. /shrug

I can't actually be the only person that likes clemency, right? If you're using it to be a backup healer it's going to feel underwhelming. I personally have had a lot of success timing it to go off right after a big hit/telegraphed damage.

A.) Hard to do 3s cast when you are interrupted. Every. Single. Time. due to boss autoattacks

B.) By the time your heal lands after 3s your target has probably been healed anyways.

Stoneskin is usually a better use of time as it will always help as opposed to Clemency, which is subject to fight conditions.

It still requires talking to your healer because their casts are faster - usually it's either too slow and the healer has already capped you or their healing becomes overheal because of your Clemency.
At least in practice on high end content.

Why does Sword Oath "aggro issue" need an answer? Pre-3.0 PLD had problems "not" pulling aggro of the main tank when they were trying to push DPS as off tanks.

You want PLD to hold hate, the problem with PLD hate is that their main enmity combo, not only has lowest potency of the enmity combos, but also has the weakest multiplers. Savage Blade and Rage of Halone have a x3 and x5 multipliers respectively while the other tanks' combos have 3.5 and 5.5 multipliers. The other tanks hold hate in DPS stances because they generate far more aggro than they need to.

Clemency is nice and has its uses but it's situational. I think Clemency is great. People don't like situational and want it to work all the time and that's the problem.

Shortening Clemency's cast time sounds like a good change to me. It shouldn't be quite as interruptible.

Buffing PLD damage to the extent of many of these suggestions would require significant tradeoffs like preventing blocking in sword oath. Or a corresponding passive mitigation buff in DRK/WAR. You can't pretend the PLD's DPS is designed to be somewhat lower for no reason at all.

This is true of FoF, as much as it's true of Darkside or Maim or Deliverance.
