Dark Knight feels pretty overwhelming.

Dark Dance adds a 20% evasion if you combine DA + DD. Having DA + DD is actually good, I for one actually main a dark knight unlike phoenicia. I think that it works prettyy well. Just make sure you don't have bloodprice up when you do Dark Arts + Dark Dance.

I love it. It's got about the right amount of finger movement as I want now. It could go a fair bit faster before my mind would struggle to keep up but the enhanced complexity of these new jobs over old ones has been a defnite step in the right direction. I can only hope that the pace gets hastened even more when the cap is raised in the far off future. To make the gameplay do more justice to the expertise the WoL has picked up throughout their career.

Personally I find myself falling asleep when I try to make my PLD catch up now.

1. If you mean by "unlike Phoenicia" that I don't main DRK, you're vastly mistaken. DRK is 1 of my 2 60s. Also I do not need to main a job to know how it works. :)

2. I never said DA + DD is bad in absolute values. I just said you should not use it on bosses when you CANNOT dodge their attacks. You're just wasting MP and potential potency added by other skills by doing that. DADD works well when you can dodge. Outside of that it doesn't. Read my post carefully and you will see I encourage using DD for incoming damage too.

I had a level 50 war prior to heavensward. Mostly dungeon runs, a few early coil experience. I level dark to 60 and decided to level war a bit. At 50...it felt so sloooow. Everything was on global cooldown. Granted drk has extra 5 skills, but it felt like I was weaving so much stuff compared to war

your mixing blood price which gives mp back from damage your taking. With Blood weapon which you can't even use in grit.

And its barely useful to just drop grit and use blood weapon till your full then put grit back up cause oh ya Grit costs over 1k in mp to use even more if dark side is up too. Not to mention Grit is on the GCD

Adjusting Blood weapon so it gives back HP while in grit and mp while not would make it more useful. As well as take some stress off healers.

I thought about combining DADP plus DADD, but since you can't get hit, you can't use BP. So how are you gaining mp? Dropping grit and using BW and single attacking?

DD has a 20 second up-time and DP's blind is 15 seconds, use those 2 skills together when your blood price is down.

If the pull is very big (7 or more mobs), you can have that much dodge + blood price and still get enough MP back. I still recommend timing the dodge chance for when you actually have Blood Price down and rely on solid mitigation (Shadowskin/Shadow Wall) while BP is up.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm trying to get into a good flow so the class becomes much easier to hold. Right now at my DRK's level what I've found works well is popping Blood Price on pulls of 3 or more along with a Shadowskin/Foresight with Bloodbath and then dropping Unleash constantly until BP finished then SE/Scourge the lot.

Is this a good method for threat hold until later levels? I'd rather not be one of "those" tanks but this seems to works fairly well and I think I've only lost agro like once to a well geared DRG? More to the point is it ever worth doing PS combo on trash pulls or would that make life just unnecessarily difficult?

Also, is it ever worth using Reprisal/Dark Dance on trash? I have to agree that the rebuff is very unreliable and I find myself screwing my patterns trying to flexibly squeeze it in.

The aggro of a DRK is the highest of all three tank classes. Against a single boss, I only do like one combo of DA plus Powerslash combo. After that, I can basically apply my dots, do my soul eater combo to regain my mp and maintain aggro for the rest of the fight. You also have Carve and spit, that gives you mp back aswell if you don't combine it with DA. Once the Dark Arts + Dark Dance buff ended, you can, if you need to -> apply bloodprice! ^^ On faust savage I can go over 1k if not more probably as i got more pieces. I play Dark Knight with passion and enjoy it!

Also this might just be me but one thing I got used to was the sound queues and animations on my WAR for direction. DRK is surprisingly quiet in most of it's skills.
