I admit to using a sound effect. It's one of the quieter ones, just a quick chime.
I use downtime during pacification to regen some TP. If you don't have enough of an enmity lead by the time Berserk drops off, you are doing it wrong ^_^
I've never bothered with a macro because pacification only lasts 5 seconds. If you time your berserk right you get off an attack right as it ends meaning about half of the pacification all your abilities are on gcd anyway. So you only lose about one attack.
Seems an annoying waste to bother healers to waste one of their gcds so I can get one more when my buffs won't even be up.
Even more of one to make a bard spend 3 seconds casting a song when they could be shooting guys.
Don't get me wrong: I love stance dancing and eking out all the DPS I can on warrior, but if it's costing raid DPS to get me one extra unbuffed gcd? No. That's dumb. Healer throw out an attack spell in cleric, instead, please.
I kinda agree with the above poster.
There are, however, battles where it IS important to have pacification removed or prevented.
Mainly Bis Ex atm.
If you use Berserk on Bismark's back, you'll be under pacification right when the colored adds spawn.
And you can't waste provoke on them, chances are you'll need it tank swap in the next 5 seconds.
There is enough time to a Bard to cast the Warden Paeon buff after jumping out of Bismark's back. There is nothing to attack. No bard dps lost at all.
I'm sure there are other cases where it's totally possible to prevent pacification from berserk and not being a dps loss for bards.
As someone who plays white mage a lot, I can safely say that I do not need the help and the sound is annoying. Look, I'm staring at the party's HP and statuses. It's my job when I'm that class. I notice. Like Brianmj, I'm less inclined to bother with those annoying things.
Yes I have always used Flash to grab my add in Bismarck and I've never had any issues.
Flash is a great TP saver too. Getting instantly Esunaed is not. I'm actually quite against removing my pacification. That's my 'me' time.
I do that when needed (bad healers everywhere, most would spam medica2 or diurnal aspected benefic right before adds spawn rather than esuna'ing me), but it's sub-optimal.
The main issue I have is that I feel bad for the other tank that has to grab an add with so low aggro in case of tank swap, even more so when there's a melee on the add who is smashing the add and don't move because his debuffs didn't change colors.
I've seen the adds turning towards the melee / party and cleaving everyone nearby, because the aggro of two flashes is kinda weak imo. It's not comparable to the aggro of an overpower or a butcher's block combo.
Haven't done BisEx as War, but. . . Flash isn't affected by pacification, and you can just click off berserk as coming off the back which means you should be able to power out more aggro right after.
I know some warriors don't put it on their bars because it's very rarely necessary and only situationally useful. . . but that applies to anything you'd put there. Plus it makes pulls where not everything wants to line up for an overpower right away easier without having to rely on ranged not attacking until you can hit everything with it. Also makes multi-group pulls easier because it's usually a lot simpler to hit everything with flash while running past than OP (although OP works sometimes).
Also: Bit of a tangent, but I think the current meta for BisEx is actually wrong, unless your entire group is really 'on it'. That is to say, breaking the chitin in one is only optimal if all four DPS are better than average (so, yes, it's the way to go if you're running with a static). You can easily, if you have the DPS to do that, kill the adds before they attack the island, and fire up the shield generator for every island slam. . . and breaking the Chitin on the third pass means you can pull off an LB2 on the Snakes or have LB3 ready for the last phase, AND it ensures that everyone has every buff ready for the snakes to increase overall DPS on them. . . while killing the Chitin in one doesn't necessarily mean you can beat the Snakes in a PF.
But then in a few weeks when everyone has ilevel 200 weapons that won't matter.
Edit: Like 5 responses in the couple minutes I was writing this. Too lazy to change it.
Those count down to pacification macros drive me up the wall as a healer .______.
I watch the health bars and peoples statuses enough as it is, you really don't need to remind me about the fact you won't be able to do anything for a few secs unless I leech it while you do your nasa countdown to pacification liftoff macro.
