Why are rings unique equipped?

Oh hey I remember making this thread. But my opinion on this hasn't changed. Get rid of unique equipped rings! It's a stupid limitation and is completely unnecessary. As for the players defending it, I feel compelled to ask why? Why are people opposed to something that helps everyone? The mind boggles.

Anyway, with Stormblood coming out, now is the perfect time to lift this pointless restriction and/or give vendor a second ring for each role with different itemization.

It used to be that you could sometimes get alt rings from primals in 2.x (Garuda EX/Ramuh EX) but not anymore so there is less of a reason to have this restriction now. I don't think they are going to get rid of it though since there are still normal/savage raid and crafted rings.
