Yeah, thats pretty bad of them if they don't have a way to handle transfers. People do move, after all.

I think only the NA account doesn't have all these hassle. I can pay by paypal, foreign credit cards and what not. SE NA account can even send OTP verification to my foreign mobile number. It is only EU and JP accounts have these problem, with usually JP having the most restrictions. Just not only SE - a lot of online JP stores and stuffs can't accept foreign credit cards at all, even if the card label is a Japanese major issuer like JCB.

OP: The same thing exactly happened to me and your only options are:

a) Get a trustworthy/reliable japanese friend to buy gametime cards for you.
b) Use webmoney, however this ends up costing way more than a month sub.
c) Star over in a new account.

I had to start again losing everything I had farmed in 1 year, been playing a lot lately to catch up. They don't even sell digital game time cards on the official SE JP store, unlike NA/EU ones, which bothered me. Couldn't even find game time cards on amazon, ebay, yesasia and those kind of sites selling products to export. Support would tell you they can't/won't change your account region and nothing else. My suggestion to SE would be, sell only DIGITAL copies and game time cards of every region on all regions, because people sometimes move countries and whatnot, losing their accounts. I don't ask for physical ones, as they probably won't do shipping for that, but digital ones shouldn't have any problem.

PS: OP, you'll also need a Japanese Heavensward copy.

Yup, the Japanese payment system is the worst. It's extra frustrating because they USED TO accept foreign credit cards then suddenly they changed it. (And even if you have jp credit card, it has to have a certain security system activated, I can FINALLY use mine.)

No paypal, crysta is annoying to buy because you have to use webmoney... bleh. So as long as I want to play this game I must stay in Japan, haha.

They are so behind in some respects, paypal please.
