I'm wondering about Expert Roulette though. Yoshi were saying that there are 8 dungeons(?), so do we need to unlock all those before we able to access the new roulette? Or are we going to retain our old WP, KoL, AK as Expert Roulette?
there will be a exp bonus once you have a job at level cap
Roulettes, no need for FATE grind. Do only FATEs if you run into them.Quote:
When the well of quests run dry and Fates get even more boring than they already are, the 50-60 grind is going to be about as tedious as they come. Moreso if we have to keep stopping to re-gear for newer content.
Expert roulette will be lv 60 dungeons. Maybe the 3 newest dungeons again.
Lv51-59 dungeons will be in the renamed low level roulette (will then be lv 17-49 & 51-59 dungeons for level-ups). I guess we still don't need to unlock every dungeon there to do the roulette.
All lv50 dungeons are in an own roulette.
So, I'm wondering how people think it will be most efficient to level the new jobs (since they're starting at 30). Would it be best to level to 50 first and then start the new story quests?
I think some of you are forgetting that you get a 50% bonus EXP after hitting 50 with your first job.
Yoshi-P most likely meant it will take as long as it took to level 1-50 with your first job, and with all story quests to do... I don't remember how much EXP those story quests give you(been ages now), but I doubt they are really gonna speed up the leveling compared to just grinding dungeons/fates and whatever. Ofc, some people might just skip the story quests until they hit level 60 to get there as fast as possible, but most people won't...
I'm expecting it to take 1 week for your average normal player who have taken off some time for it, and a couple of days for the really hardcore players. It's still longer than I was actually expecting, even though it sounds so short when you put it out like that.
For more casual players, or players that just can't find the time to play more than 3 hours a day or something... it's going to take some time.
Only reason it going to be so short, is because a lot of people are gonna make sure they have tons of time to play during those early days. That includes myself, who is going to play 24/7 :)
Us casual players with limited game time will probably take a Month if not more. :)
I'm certainly not worried about it. Heavensward was described as having as much content as 2.0 when it was first released, so it's designed to keep us busy for a while. If we didn't have a similar amount of leveling time, we'd level cap much faster than we'd finish content. I'll be glad to take my time with new levels and new classes, as some classes are supposed to have a substantially different feel by the time they learn all their new skills up to level 60.
Because in FFXIV everything can be done on one character (I have all of my classes on one toon), and you only go through the story once, AND the story is very interesting, I hope it does take a full week to go through it. I doubt it, because thats a lot of game hours. I expect people to hit 60 within 3 days, the ones that rush it.
