But yeah, they've blatantly ripped off other games as well. If you refresh a few times, you may get a different load screen

Can we please get someone to shut that "game" down?..

It has something to do with giving China rights to FFXIV in their own property image, etc. or w/e. I'm sure of it. SE of Japan most likely has no say in this matter, that's probably why we keep seeing media taking elements from FFXIV.

If licensing a property to a company in china gives the entire country license to use a product, why would any company bother doing business with China?
I don't think this is the case. They have very lax definitions of "copyright infringement" and next to no enforcement, but no government would allow a law like that to go through as it would ultimately end up detrimental to them in the long run.

Sadly this is a widespread problem with how easily all these gaming companies are just popping up all over the place in the past decade. Its only going to get worst :(

As dumb as they want, since copyright laws in China are nearly non-existent, unless you're trying to copy the govt's stuff...in which case, watch out :P
