Suport for PS3 depends on the PS3 userbase, especially in Japan. Fortunately PS4 is doing well there too, something to do with Japanese game developers/publishers finally moving to PS4.

The thing is that on the PC, there's a lot more variables you can mess with, and there are third party things like SweetFX that can make the game look better than it should (Personally I find most SweetFX tweaks make things look aesthetically worse) given the extra GPU power.
The GPU capabilities of the PS4, at most are around the same level of a mid-highend video card, Think Radeon 7870, but the CPU capabilities are extremely weak, closer to an AMD FX8120 or Intel Core i7 930. The only thing the PS4 going for it over a PC is the lack of a bloated general purpose operating system and the overhead that goes with it.
If you have a video card weaker than a Radeon 7870 (eg all Laptops and most HP/Dell/Asus BestBuy floor models) than one can't really expect better visuals than the PS4. The CPU power however is certainly weak compared to any current system (The top-of-the-line systems are twice as fast.) So that results in a lot less things being displayed to begin with to compensate for the weaker CPU. So most non-crowded areas should look the same on the PC, but the frame rate's and number of objects will not.
Because they aren't going to be selling FFXIV stand-alone anymore... is likely the reason. It would come with the expansion pack, which means if the PS3 can't get the expansion pack, you'd have to buy it anyway to switch to the PS4.
It's minimal at best. Remember FFXIV is also on the PS3 so any limitations across the field is set to the weakest link, PS3. Once they reach the end of the cycle that involved the PS3. It's more likely there will be enhancements to the engine but only to what the best performance on the PS4 can handle. PC is only flexable in that you can upgrade components without having to replace the whole thing. PC's will always have the edge on that it isn't hardware locked. But at some point, (and its getting closer) you wont be able to tell the difference between a game console and PC other than spreadsheet and other office programs. Well not quite, it'll be more like a Apple since upgrading individual hardware will always be an issue for consoles.
you can't even see or should say you can't display how much kill you have on screen in your hood because of the ps3 limitations so I wouldn't be at all surprised if you can to TP because for the same reason. sorry for how that looks the speech to text on my tablet isn't very great.
Owning both copies of the game, I can honestly say I prefer the PC version. The arguments that it's better looking aren't entirely groundless, although the difference is very minimal. More characters on-screen and more fluid visuals are just some of the obvious benefits in the PC version. Of course, the benefit to owning a console is that it's an all-in-one magic box and anything it can do it can do well.
PC's on the other hand can vary widely, so no two players may be using the same system. With that in mind, some people run into random crashes or bugs that the devs didn't expect to find. I haven't experienced many myself, and the few I did I could replicate on the PS4 version so I chalk those down to every day glitches.
Control wise though, I much prefer having a keyboard. There are simply too many skills for me to map everything to a single controller!
Why are people trying to simply compare PS4 to PC.
Are we saying a PC that meets the minimum specs? The Required specs? Or blows them all out of the park?
Not to mention, whats with all the saltyness? Higher end PC's have always been better performance and graphics wise than consoles, it's nothing new. The game still looks gorgeous on a PS4 and it handles it just fine.
I play on PS4 when I am being lazy like mining or crafting, and PC when I am raiding. SweetFX also makes the game look even better with the right settings.
