Revelations from Patch 2.55 [SPOILERS]

Interestingly, Y'shtola's last words were "mhitra" (smn quest giver/also from sharlayan) I do wonder if they truly are siblings?

Urianger was surprising, although I think he's not a traitor and is there to speak with Elidibus since he always was open to discuss things with WoL and Co.

Also, what's with Tataru giving all those evil looks?

Seemed like they were suggesting Tataru was party to it. The odd choice of parting words, the look and all the talk about fudged numbers for the Crystal Braves. Maybe it was just a smokescreen though?

Now that you mention it, was she keeping the braves books or was someone else keeping the books? When the Braves were formed I thought Alphinaud said he traced the funds to be sure, but by saying that does he mean he had them traced, and was that person who traced them, Tataru?

My first thoughts after that rollercoaster ride are simply:

Heavensward has a lot of story to cover in a span of only ten levels...

I suspect the Main Scenario of 3.0 will deal with matters inside of Ishgard and the Dragonsong war and that in the patches beyond, after we've fixed that mess, we'll be turning our focus on cleaning up the mess from 2.55. Otherwise the main scenario of Heavensward is gonna be rushed as heck.

I do wonder if Nanamo is really dead, which would be a real shame, she's my favourite Lala, even above Tataru. You could argue, "Yeah, dude, she's gone", but what about that scene between Lolorito and Nanamo's lady-in-waiting? Certain poisons have been known to invoke a state of apparent death, without the victim actually dying.

I also wonder what Raubahn's future will hold and when we can seperate Ilberd's head from his body. It's a bit too firmly attached to it for my liking.

Surprised at the lack of Midgardsormr comments during the siege of Ishgard, though. He said two lines in the entire patch. =s

I also must commend Alphinaud's voice actor (at least in Japanese). He played the part of a defeated, extinguished Alphinaud perfectly. I really just wanted to give the little guy a pat on his shoulder.

I am, however, massively dissapointed in Merlwyb and Kan-E-Senna for just standing there, then leaving and letting Raubahn get his arm chopped off and the Monetarists complete their coup. What the hell?! Especially you, Merlwyb! Put a bullet through Lolorito's head, for heaven's sake! You're a pirate!

I'm impressed, too, but for the exact opposite reason. My beloved was one of the first to go when 2.5 hit, but that they pulled more-or-less the same exit for every other major character before the expansion means that he wasn't singled out at all, but rather given the exact same treatment as a good portion of the main cast.

Combine that with our totally reworked understanding of side quests and characters in chronology... I think I might be able to let it slide, for now. Could be good things ahead.

Various NPCs around the world's dialogue changes if you talk to them but Jenlyns is the most telling:

He mentions that the Sultana is ill not dead.

I feel silly doing the lvl50 CUL quest yesterday and not waiting until today to see if there are any changes.

It makes me wonder though if Tataru thought you would die and thats the last time he would see you! Also Tataru and Urianger are still in contact if you try to talk to Tataru to play TT when its not time.

I wonder if they'll go with the poisoned yet unconscious trope? That the WoL will have a quest that finds ingredients to make an anitidote to cure her?

I went into it expecting her to be some sort of body-double, but entire scene plays out as if Lolorito is still in the early planning stages, complete with a direct nod to the PC from Nanamo Ul Namo.

So while we still can't stick a date on it, it happened/happens/will happen before 2.55's MSQ, regardless of completion order.

Gonna go check on Jenlyns now...

That clinches it. Pretty sure she's dead, but Lolorito's running the place as if he's covering for her in illness.
