White mage remain gimp because the can go scholar on real content?

Are both perfectly capable of getting the job done? Yes, yes they are.

Are the two jobs perfectly balanced? Nope, and they never will be.

Does one benefit more than the other? Yes, yes it does, in specific scenarios and niches.

Bottom line? Play what healer you want to play.

A SCH is only as powerful as the WHM they are with. Likewise, a WHM is only as powerful as the SCH they are with. It's a symbiotic relationship.

FWIW:

WHM Pros: Potent 1-cast healing and DPS, solid HoT spells.
WHM Cons: Mana pool issues, not error forgiving.

SCH Pros: 3 (6) potent instant heals, pet makes you "a healer and a half", damage reduction rewards leaning forward (overhealing), copious mana pool, pet can soak dmg for team.
SCH Cons: Must cast multiple spells to deliver moderate DoT, lack of potent & spammable AOE heal.

Advantage: SCH.
- Lackluster offense on a healing class isn't a drawback in tough content, since you rarely/never contribute offensively.
- Healing 75%/1m (Lustrate) is a huge advantage over 100%/5m (Benediction). Additionally, you regain 20% of your mana back (Aetherflow) as a prerequisite to your mana-free Lustrates.
- It is impossible to return 100% of a person's HP with a single skill spell, and a much more likely scenario that you are returning 80-90% HP, 90-95% of the time, making Benediction less useful than Lustrate. Furthermore, that 25%x3 heal is distributable, Bene is not.

Then again, WHM Holy makes for better speed-runs.

Seems 7v7 to me. If you want a fair comparison you need to be unbiased. Your post is clearly biased.

Your entire post hinges on lustrate being able to be spread on 3 targets ignoring the fact what WHM can do and SCH can't. I'll counter that with saying 2x WHM's can stack up on HoT. 2x SCH cannot stack shields. This is just one instance, if you like I can post more.

Both classes are equal and work best in synergy.

Show me one piece of content that WHM can do and SCH can't. Vice versa, show me one piece of content that SCH can do and WHM can't. You won't be able to.

Yes one piece of content favors one type of healer or the other, but they are both viable and in a good position.

There is a reason the progression raids always take one of each healer type.

The only time I'm not on WHM is when I'm gathering or crafting. I have no idea why I leveled smn/sch and blm. I tried to like sch. But I hate playing it. I adore my sch co-healer in my coil static though. And he's said many times that he highly appreciates my whm too. So...?

Yes, It's biased and for good reason. My WHM is to Animus, while my SCH isnt yet to Atma, and the latter is as good or better in all but speed runs (~ilv 117).

Side by side they are pretty equal and (you're right) as a tandem they are best, however on their own when choosing between them it boils down to:

-You can place Eos on the OT, and effectively heal the MT yourself. You are a healer and a half.
-Aetherflow+Lustrate (or Lustrate+Aetherflow+Lustrate) is up to 49.9% more health, 5x as often than Benediction.

Side note:
It irks me when people list Benediction as an asset. It's a gimmik that rarely proves it's usefulness (literally, rarely; its a f'n 5 min cooldown).
You will never, ever, ever, ever, heal 100% of a players HP with Bene. The most, best, and unlikeliest scenario is that you hit a Holm'd WAR at 1HP, to get a 10K+ heal, and that's still only 99.99%. NOT 100%.
Bene is best used in the midst of a Holy spamm during speed runs.
I would gladly trade Bene for 50% reduction in the cooldown on SoS, DS or PoM.

Do you expect most static groups to single heal through SCOB and FCOB?
You say yourselfy you practically need both jobs, thats true for 99% of the playerbase, so 99% balanced, sound good to me.

For SR you say you prefer WHM, thats understandable too.

So:
For what does "when choosing" even matter then?
What are the situations where you choose "OK I go SCH it is better here"? Single Healing Light farm groups?
